"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
Very interesting, especially juxtaposed with Newhook signing 4 x $2.9.
Huge sign of confidence in Colton, which I think is well-placed.
I think this will end up being one of those win-wins - Newhook for Colton (via pick trade) and Gulyaev, I mean, with Colton being a big piece in helping Avs win now while Newhook becomes a terrific bargain who fits Habs competitive timeline perfectly.

Not sure if he's 4M good but I like the player a lot and he deserves more than the 12 minutes per game he was getting in Tampa.

If hes a possession positive 3C with 15+ mins per game taking on tough matchups hes worth every penny
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
Woof.
I don't get this one.
Well... if cap rises from $83.5m to $88m (say)... then $4m for a solid two-way 3rd line center is probably absolutely fine.
Colton's got some game... but he was still 32pts in 81gp and a -8 for TB last year.
For me, this is more of a sign of showing your team (COL) that there'll be something "different" on rostesr this year.
Colorado lost out in playoffs last year because of their team depth:
Last year's opening series MINUS forwards: -3 Malgin, -3 Newhook, -2 Meyers, -2 Nichushkin, -2 Compher, -1 Eller, -1 Helm.
Guys how many of those guys are without COL contract right now?
That playoff loss stung bad for Sakic. Overhaul time for the bottom 6.
Ross Colton has some very efficient numbers for a 12min player on Tampa while having a pretty even Offensive/Defensive zone start percentage. If he went to a team with a C2 that would take defensive responsibilities then I would think Colton would be an offensive C3 that can be defensive. However with RyJo as their C2...Colton won't be getting offensive chances to improve on his numbers a lot I'd think.
He's likely lining up with Miles Wood and Logan O'Connor on 5on5, and on the 2nd PP unit with RyJo, Drouin, Byram, and Toews.
I guess it's kinda similar to Chytil and Zacha deals this yr. These middling deals are always weird. Cause he could perform to the same level of Kampf ($2.4m), or he could jump to a 50pt player. These deals don't typically sink a team and can be navigated around, but could boost a team by a lot fi they hit.

I guess they feel that with wings like Landy and Nich, they need to sink money into someone who can play in the top six if - more likely when - the regulars are injured. Still though, seems high.

Bit high but I like the player. A mucker with a bit of scoring touch around the net when needed. Can play any type of game you want him to. I think he fits nicely into that lineup.
