Colton was one of the most efficient players with his icetime given.
He's averaged 12:15TOI in his career and has 83pts in 190gp (0.437ppg). Should be interesting if he gets more icetime in Colorado and an expanded role. I'd assume this is the JT Compher potential replacement who played 20:32TOI last yr.

Tampa was forced by cap to make the trade? I don't how it makes sense for them otherwise.

I think they need players cheaper than Colton.
$800k for the backup goalie, $3.5m for Jeannot (min) brings that cap space to 3.025m for 3-4 forwards still. So the players they sign need to be league min essentially if they want to re-sign Jeannot to $3.5m max.
