Yeah, I would easily snag back up Ullmark. I like the Burns idea as well.

So the expansion draft was last night....

I end up protecting:

1. Leon Draisaitl
2. Jack Eichel
3. Nathan MacKinnon
4. Mika Zibanejad
5. Mikko Rantanen
6. Andrei Svechnikov
7. Igor Shesterkin

I was torn back and forth between keeping an extra goalie or a defenseman, but I listened to my heart instead of my head and kept Svechnikov over Georgiec, Ulmark or a dman.

One of the 2 GMs had no interest in making any protection deals, but during the draft I was able to work out a protection deal with one of two GMs to not take Ullmark.

Cost me a 2023 3rd and a 2025 2nd, but I got a 2025 5th back. Trade was null if the other GM took him, which thankfully he didn't so Ulmark stayed on my team.

Expansion draft unfolded like this, it was a linear/ladder draft order. (bolded players were from my tream)

My team was hit the hardest, having 5 players taken. Next closest team was 3.

I'll probably end up keeping Burns, Pietrangelo or maybe wildcard Chychrun as my last keeper unless I'm able to "buy" one from another team.

Happy the new guys ended up with decent teams.

that is odd way of doing draft like this....there shoudl have been max number of players taken from each team...so lets say you have one expansion team that needs 24 players....league has 16 teams, max 2 players per team...its not fair the way it unfolded for you imo
