Default Meier for Marner or Svech

I’ve been offered a few trades for my Meier as he’s a stud in our setup. I’m currently in 1st and going for the win, but am without my first round pick next year. I’ve been offered either Marner (RW) or Svech (LW) + 1st (my 1st that I traded away earlier) for Meier (LW/RW) + 4th.

Which player would you rather have moving forward in a keeper bangers league? It’s tough to part with Timo but I feel like getting Marner back with a pick upgrade might be worth it? Id be swapping keepers with Svech or Marner for Timo next year. Team in sig, any advice would be great!

I think I would want Marner and a 1st over Meier.

What are the 3 players points/game this year with your cats?
SOME POOL RULES. Points only (G-1, A-1). One year Hybrid Pool. 3 round draft with balance of roster selected from any undrafted NHLer.. 19F 4 D 2 Rooks SALARIES AND POSITIONS DO NOT MATTER (other than being a F or D). NO Inter-Team Trading, Bench or Minors. Our WAIVER WIRE is ANY player in the NHL who is not Drafted in our league's 3 round draft. Each manager gets 6 ADD/DROPS (TRADES) for the year...any player on roster can be TRADED for any unDrafted F/D/R from ANY NHL team. INJURY RULE "IR". A hurt player can be replaced by another F/D from HIS NHL team and this is NOT considered a trade.. Injured player can be put back on team any time.

I think it’s close. In this setup, I could see Meier and Marner swapping years of who is better. If you get a pick upgrade with Marner, I would probably take that.

As you are going for the win this year I don't understand why you would do a trade to acquire a player who produces substantially fewer points than the player you are trading away. Unless you can get Bedard with that pick I guess? Or you just want a top Maple Leaf player on your roster .

I think Marner & a 1st is fine. This year, it may be a step back. Next year, it may flip.

I agree. Focus on winning this year. Doing this trade improves someone else and degrades your chances of winning.
Keep Meier and go for the championship.

Marner is going to put up more points than Meier.
However Meier is going to contribute heavily in shots and hits. Plus the fact you acknowledged that Meier is ranked higher in your settings. You’re already leading and going for the win. I would then stick with Meier. Unless you prefer Marner & the 1st plus and are confident the trade doesn’t hurt your Championship run this year. Good luck.
