Hockey has a sexual assault problem at all levels = whining.
Keep showing your true colors sunshine.
EDIT: In b4 PH negative reps me again because his whole life is centered around sending me negative rep as often as the site allows lmao (3 times in the last 16 days, how sad).

Different country so maybe the rules are different but I recall gymnasts breaking their NDAs to testify against Larry Nassar.
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
I am not a lawyer, so obviously I only have a cursory understanding of these things. Hopefully LawMan can chime in. I believe under general terms, if you break your NDA you simply have to pay back the settlement award, but I am not totally sure.
I also am pretty sure NDAs only apply to "court of public opinion" and future civil cases. IE, you can't talk about it to your friends (slander) or in future civil cases against the same defendant(s). I think you can break your NDA in criminal court, but again, I am not completely sure.
A subpoena would, in most cases, override a contract (NDA).

So the newest news is that Hockey Canada had a pot of money set aside for paying off "non-insurable" issues (AKA, sexual assault) and it was financed through registration fees by hockey players throughout Canada.
If you didn't know, every person who pays to play hockey in Canada, your registration fee you pay the league, a portion of it goes to Hockey Canada. This is from 4yr olds playing house league (TimBits), 16yr olds playing rep, to old-timers leagues. It's $23.90/person, with over 600,000 people signing up per yr, creating a fund of ~$15,000,000/yr in what HC says is used for insurance, emergency medical coverage, admin and operation fees.
Another thing is Hockey Canada said they didn't know who the 8 players were, but the players lawyers are saying HC did know. And there's been talks about how those 8players NHL contracts could be voided (like Kane/SJS). The players can be banned from Hockey Canada tournaments. There's a lot here.
Lots of change will happen in Hockey Canada.

More info on what we've found out through this:
- Hockey Canada settles about 1-2 sexual assault cases a year
- Hockey Canada paid $3.5million in this case (147,059 hockey participants registration fees)
- Hockey Canada includes "sexual misconduct liability" under what their insurance fees cover
I wonder if participants in hockey in Canada have a leg to stand on if there's a lawsuit over this. As someone who has paid to play hockey would have had money go towards Hockey Canada. On their website they do state the money goes to "sexual misconduct liability", so maybe they've covered themselves that way.

More info coming out. It is known that 6 players were born in 1998, and 2 born in 1999. If you eliminate the players who have made statements saying it wasn't them (Mete, Makar, Fabbro, Gadjovich and Foote), then eliminate Kyrou and Clague (were not at the event), and remove Point (as it was not a US College student) you can have the following players come out as highly likely as involved:
2 of the following born in 1999: Comtois, Formenton, Robert Thomas
6 of the following born in 1998: Hart, J.Bean, Batherson, Dube, Howden, Katchouk, Michael McCleod, Raddysh, Steel, Steenbergen
I could have missed a statement or two, but doesn't look good for Ottawa (Formenton, Batherson)
