Who to drop?

Hi friends,
Points only league. I need to drop two out of: J Eichel, M Tkachuk, E Petterson, J Hughes, J Guentzel, M Stone, P Laine, R Thomas, C Kreider, A Fox, S Theodore, and F Andersen. It was going to be Kreider and one of Laine or Thomas, but all 3 of those guys have been incredible. So now I'm thinking twice about Stone and Theodore. I'd appreciate your opinion! Thanks...

Thanks! I should have mentioned that we have to carry 6 D. If I only keep Fox I'm a bit thin there and Theodore likely becomes the best one available in the draft. But maybe that's the way to go...

A very long ways to go. I know Vegas has had injuries but he's had a very down year. Been better lately though so I'd just aim to redraft next season.

The odds of Kreider scoring 50 next season are very slim. I would drop Kreider and Theodore.

Stone had a down year, and is an injury risk. But he's still one of the best players in the game, and will be on VGK's top line for the foreseeable future (now with Eichel playing next to him). He's averaged 82ppg over the past 5 years, so I think dropping him would be a mistake.

Kreider has had a stellar year, and has more value in a banger league. But I generally expect him to regress back towards his historical numbers, and in a points only league, guys who average about 50+pts per year are plentiful in the draft. And as a 30 year old power forward, odds are he starts to experience decline sooner than later anyway. So I would lean towards dropping Kreider. And Theodore.

I might consider keeping Theodore. To me, his only real value is in points only leagues since he doesn't really provide peripherals.

I would definitely drop Kreider. He's not going to repeat, no way. Plus, most of his value in many leagues comes from HIT and PIM anyway.

I gotta say, I have not been impressed with Laine since like, his sophomore year basically. Stone had a down year, but as others said, he gets to play with Eichel next season. Thomas I expect to have a career kind of like Backstrom. Tons of assists, weaker in the goal department.

So that's a tough one. I guess Theodore is a possibility, but I really do expect him to bounce back soon enough. As long as he's getting tons of PP time he will be super valuable and Pietrangelo isn't getting younger. So I honestly really don't know. But I guess Theodore has to be it. Laine probably worth more in trade than Theo coming into next season. I would however consider making some trades at the beginning of next year for some upgrade or two. Maybe moving guys like Laine. And i worry about EP, I would honestly be looking to trade him I think if his value is high enough.

Thanks folks. It's interesting to hear that Theodore has a lot less value than I thought. I'm definitely thinking I'll drop Kreider, and I'll see if I can make a trade before deciding on the second one.

Someone scoring 50+ goals and still recommended as a drop in a keep 10 seems rather unsettling.
