Is Kyle Connor This Good?
Connor seems to be having a career year and I'm curious whether this is what to expect from him going forward. Is he a guy that's up there with the top LW'ers (Marchand, Panarin, Huberdeau, Kaprizov, Landeskog, Guentzel), or right under that tier?

Short answer... yes he is. His stats from the past few seasons show that and if you watch Winnipeg play he is their #1 guy right now for sure.

Yep. And he was expected to be this good.
The 2015 draft is going to go down as the greatest of all time for depth AND top end talent, far surpassing 2003
The top 10 were constantly changing in rankings and everyone disagreed because there were so many great candidates. The only thing everyone agreed on was Connor McDavid #1, jack Eichel #2.
After that, everyone disagreed on the top 5 and top 10, and over who would be the best of the big 3 Defensemen choices that year. Some folks ranked Connor as high as #5, others had him at #15. Everyone top 15 was considered a potential #1 pick on any other years and tons of later picks are blossoming into superstars. Aho, Hintz, Kaprisov, Terry, and tons of guys who will be serviceable 2nd or 3rd line NHL regulars.

Kyle Connor is a top 5-10 LW in the league.
Draisaitl*, Ovi, Hube, Landy, Kaprizov are the top 5. Then there's Panarin, Marchand, Miller*, Gaudreau, Svechnikov, Guentzal, Kreider (this yr) are among that next group.
LW is deep actually. But he's part of that 5-10 group of players.

As others have said, Connor was among an elite group of prospects in his draft year, the LW position is currently rich with elite talent and Connor, for these reasons, never really got as much hype and ink that these others did. Yet he has quietly demonstrated that he does indeed belong in this group of blue chip NHL forwards. Ya, he is that good, the numbers do not lie.

Awesome. Thanks everyone. I just acquired him in a larger deal a few weeks ago and trying to plan out my keepers for next year. Sounds like he definitely makes the cut and I’m down to Laine / Stone for my last spot.
