I will definitely check that out. I read the Dobber guide and use Fantasy Hockey Geek. Unfortunately I made a mistake and used FHG as a draft order rather than sift through the information looking for multi cat players.

Your stronger opponents will always be working the WW, too. If you are weak in cats easily found on the waiver wire it's still a recipe for a middling team.

If anything, I'd sooner be less competitive in the scoring cats if I had to choose. The volatility in week to week scoring means you will win PPP or Goals once in a while even if you aren't as strong. If you are weak in hits or blocks you'll probably lose that category every week.

I've been very successful in limited keeper drafts using a spreadsheet to track where my team sits in each cat versus all the other teams while the draft is playing out. Only if I'm falling behind in scoring cats would I draft a Snake Moreacek type of player and then only if there aren't other options that cover more cats. You need some category projections in order to do this. I didn't find it difficult to remain top 2 in every skater category because opposing teams tend to overdraft certain cats or fall way behind by taking too many one dimensional players.
Smelly Windblom went earlier in my draft than Snake. I think Smelly has a lot a value in leagues that count fow as he has consistently been a C/W

what i ended up doing was creating my own spreadsheet that had the FHG values tied into the yahoo ADPs. i was able to find where i could gain the most value with any given pick, so that way i wasnt reaching too high for players with high values on the geek

Of course - it would be a bush league had he not.

Perhaps someone like Tune Gender did not and I'd draft him every time over Snake in a league with Hits and FOW unless I really needed the scoring.
