2nd pick overall, who would you choose?

In a one year, strickly points (2pts for a goal, 1 pt for an assist), pool, I have the second pick overall....assuming that Crosby will be the first pick, who should I choose ?

I can\'t decide between Ovechkin, Heatley or Lecavalier....

Any idea ? Any other player I should consider ?

with 2nd overall i would rule out lecavalier, the TB lineups are still not set in stone, st.louis could play with lecavalier or richards, whoever he plays with will be the successor so i would not take lecavalier 2nd overall.

just for the pure upside and because its a points only pool, i would go with ovechkin. playing with a poor cast of players he was still able to get over 90 points in both his seasons. this season he has a much better supporting cast and their powerplay will be lethal (nylander, semin, backstrom, poti, ovechkin). because +/- doesn\'t count i would definitely take ovechkin. not much has changed in ottawa which means production will be about the same. heatley will still be a consistent 100 point player. but so much has changed in washington that i think ovechkin can outscore heatley, especially in goals since he now has nylander as a set up man instead of zubrus.

Among those three I\'d go with Ovechkin as well but did you consider Malkin? There, I said it...

Its either AO or Heatley. I am kinda leaning towards Heatley but now that AO has a decent centerman, I wonder how numbers he\'ll be able to put up

The ceiling on how many goals Ovechkin could score is pretty high so with the premium on goals scored I think you need to take him.

did\'nt mention goalies , but if that is an option then luongo is your pic , otherwise i agree with AO, then either heater or malkin.

For me pick 2 to 5 are AO, Thornton, Heatley, Malkin in any particular order. Luongo can be there too if you\'re looking for a goalie first.

In one of my pools, I was lucky to draft AO in 4th. The 1st was Sid, 2nd Heatley, 3rd Luongo.

That\'s going to happen alot in yahoo pools because they have Heatley ranked 2nd and Ovechkin 5th.
