Whatever covers my arse. LOL!
What do all you gym rats (at home rats?) wear for your workout shorts? I need to buy a couple new pairs and ask looking for recommendations.

I wear compression shorts under some gymshark shorts. I'm 6'7" and they are pretty short on me, but every pair of shorts are that aren't 2006 basketball shorts.

I wear compression shorts underneath a pair of under armour shorts that have a 5" inseam.
I'm a 5'5" power lifter with disproportionately large thighs, so I like shorts that are really short so that they sit a little above my thighs and don't interfere (stick to my thighs) when I'm doing deadlifts and power squats. I also do a lot of foam rolling, so I like the shorts to be tight so they don't catch on the foam roller. I also wear these shorts overtop my shammies when I cycle. Again, they don't stick to my thighs when I'm cycling cause they are so short.

Any shorts without big pockets. With home workouts including more running I hate when my phone gets all tangled in the pocket then basically falls through to be lower than my actual shorts. Hard to explain but if it's happened to you you probably know what I mean.
lol...
I understand what you are saying about the phone/pockets. My suggestion would be to take your phone out of your pocket.
The other thing about big, floppy pockets is that you can sometimes catch your finger in them with certain maneuvers. I do a lot of active stretching before and after my workouts, which involve walking lunges, high kicks, etc., and when I used to wear shorts with baggy/floppy pockets, I would occasionally catch my thumb in the pocket when swinging my arms.

Running shorts are too high and basketball shorts are too low. I have a combination of pocketed mesh and cotton shorts that fit comfortably in between those two. I find that wearing dry-fit boxer briefs gives me all the support I need. If I am biking I will wear padded compression shorts underneath.

Go spandex/lycra - lulu lemon. Nothing will move with you better than those.

I prefer using these during my mirror workouts. They help to remind me of my allegiance to the Dark Side. On a side note, GT boutique sells a mean pair of ACX active shorts for under $10.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
I'm 6'1, 260lbs...don't think anyone needs to see me in spandex/lycra shorts!
I ended up ordering a pair of Arrival knitted shorts and a pair of mesh shorts from Gymshark. They were one of the only companies that had my size in stock which made my decision pretty easy. I will report back with my findings in a few weeks.
I like these

Thick cotton with room to move.
The good thing is not many people are watching me do yoga in my home office or watching me skip rope on my driveway at 11pm! Speaking of which...time to get my daily session done. Nor would I care what people think, I'm much too experienced for that!
I also prefer looser, longer shorts over my compression underwear when I work out.
