Both great goal scorers, but I like Laine’s upside more.
Would you deal DeBrincat for Laine 1 for 1?

I've always been a big DeBrincat guy, his numbers over his career have been astronomical going back to Junior (minus last year). I'll take the Cat here, already has a 40g season to his name and looks like he's on pace for another...
Even if both players posted identical #'s, Laine's name fetches more in a trade. IMHO

Laine hasn't showed signs of slowing down since being traded to the Jackets, most figured he would. Cat is back on track from the looks of it, re: 2018-2019 season, but honestly i'm going with Laine here.
Both good young players but I prefer laine
I'd hold onto the Cat as long as he is line mates with Pat. He's also getting first PP time. Laine is good, really good, but I don't like him playing for Torts. Just my opinion but Cat is on pace for 90 points this year, in a full season.
My vote is The Cat.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.
10 rounds of drafting
F: Crosby, Point, P. Kane, JVR, Kopitar, Rakell, Tarasenko,
D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,
G: Bob, Shesterkin, Demko, Kahkonen
Also voting for DeBrincat. In my opinion Laine needs to be surrounded by talent to succeed, so unless he ends up moving through trade or free agency to a better situation, his prospects in Columbus do not excite me.
It's funny... Laine complained about his ice time in Wpg and never getting to become a top line winger there.
so he goes to the team that limits ice time to its top line more than any other roster in the league.
Foligno often leads this team in TOI for forwards. What does that tell you? Torz is going to force him to be really responsible in his own zone.
Give me ADB who can free-wheel with Kane.

Team Cat still going strong here!
I would go with Cat by a hair due to his exposure to Kane and Laine will likely find times riding the pine with Tortz.

G - Lehner, Rask, MAF, Talbot
Great topic. Looking at your keeper roster, I don’t suspect you would be protecting either of these players over your current top 6.
So I look at this as more of a move for this season. In this case you go with Debrincat without a doubt.
my 2 cents.
