The unresolved question at this point is how long the immunity will last - we think of “vaccines” as longer term, like polio or smallpox, but then flu shots are every year. I’m not optimistic that the Covid immunity will be longer than one year, but we can hope.

There are so many companies still working on different strategies that it is hard to tell. There is actually one company that I know of that is actively working on a flu+covid19 combination shot, which would be extremely convenient.
Yeah. The HOPE is that between the vaccines and actual exposure, the antibodies last longer and 2-3 years from now, COVID-19 is like SARS - basically a non-entity. But today that’s just “hope,” like an NHL season with fans someday.
