Interesting to read #10 about Florida ownership wanting to "cut payroll".
This still aligns with my theory that they will look to opt-out in 2023 and sell the franchise.
The team is already well on pace to exceed the required $100m in 7-year debt to reach their 'opt out'.
[Note how FLA will eat Bob's actual salaries of $12m/$12m/$10m... but a new owner gets to pay the final two years of $6.5m/$6.0m.)
Point is... the Cats no longer NEED to add any big costs to generate losses. They are all set up. #ThanksTallon #ViolaKnowsWhatHesDoing
So... what's next?
To get maximum sale price... the team needs to be financially attractive.
And they do that by trimming back the roster to a more manageable number for a buyer.
Having a lower actual roster salary and cap space to sign whoever they want is super attractive for a buyer.
It's coming... (sorry Cats fans)... enjoy your last 3 seasons.
It's coming... (get excited PQ/QC fans)... the team shall be yours!
I beat Lobo to it this week.

Love the video compilation.
Cooper/TB and "this group"... and the NHL videos of "always we"... part of why I love hockey. (Much different from the LeBron James world of I-I-I-I-I)
As strange as it was - this 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs will go down as one of my faves of all time.

I always love Friedman's way of including stories - especially when somebody passes.
He reminds us that hockey is a way of bonding and he reminds us to humanize the people as more than just hockey-characters.
RIP Muckler.
Great stuff. I haven't read in a while but he seems to have slimmed down from 31 paragraphs to 31 Thoughts.
