hard to say, they are still so young but I think I would trade my 2nd ov for Kakko. He played in the NHL, he has a year of developpement over the 2020 class.
That said, I think you can get more than only Kakko because of the drafting hype
Kakko
2nd overall
Hey guys, I'm thinking of offering my 2nd overall (2020 draftees available only) for his Kakko. Thoughts?
20tm UFA/RFA dynasty
Cats: G, A, SOG, STpts, +/-, hits/bs, GAA, Sv%, W+SO

Seeing your full roster would help.
Do you have a minors system at all?

Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting

i think either Sutzle or Byfield will be better player but you will wait longer. If you looking for production now then go for it, if you ok waiting 2-3 years for real production, keep the pick.
14 Teams H2H Dynasty, 28 roster spots (8 bench), 15 minors under 100

Kakko had a bit of a down 1st year.
I'm not sure on Kakko vs. Byfield... that's a really tough choice.
I think they both have similar upside 85-90pts.
But I think Kakko's bust potential is larger than Byfield's.
I own a #2 pick in an upcoming draft... and I don't think I'd move it if I was offered Kakko.
For me: Kakko + (something small) = Byfield
I would prefer Byfield to Kakko at this point. I think Byfield's ceiling is higher than Kakko's.
I am also slightly on the byfield train here.
So are you planning on putting Kakko in your minors or on your main roster?
Personally, I have Kakko ahead of Byfield in my long term prospect rankings (yes, i still consider Kakko a prospect at this stage) but I also think you can take advantage of the situation here to try and milk it a bit. Everyone wants to acquire draft picks, especially high ones, so that gives you leverage. Also, it's not like Kakko came out with his guns blazing in his rookie season so that should help your cause as well.
I'd ask for a + of some sort, be it a later pick or another prospect along with Kakko for your 2nd overall pick. What's the worst that can happen? He says no thanks? At least you'll have an idea of where he values Kakko.

Kakko you are one year ahead so it's not a bad idea.
McDavid/Necas/ Kucherov/Bjorkstrand/Rust/Nugent Hopkins/Cirelli/Zegras/- Letang/Morrissey/Dahlin - Swayman/Saros/Skinner
Prospects include:
McTavish/Clarke/Bordeleau
Dumais/Korchinski/Hutson
Don't worry I'm not going to say anything more than I have to. If that.
I would prefer 2oa but its not by much and if you are thinking of making the deal I am assuming its to fast track the asset to something useful now instead of 2 or 3 years from now. Which makes sense. I voted for 2oa but tbh I think you can definitely rationalize this offer.

Kakko struggled last year but will be better. Byfield is a special player; seen him live many times going back to when he was barely 16 and I would be very surprised if he didn't turn out to be an 80 point NHLer at least. Haven't seen many in junior as good as him so young in my life. He's a force out there.
It's a tough call; you get the extra year of development for Kakko but Byfield is just 17 still and I personally have him as better in the end than Kakko. I don't think Byfield plays next year, again he's 17, but I also don't think kakko sets the world on fire either next year. So take all that into consideration too...
As others pointed out though, if you do make this deal, you should get more than just Kakko based on last year....however, if you are approaching him, that may not be the case so I'd sit tight and be extremely happy i got Byfield.
I prefer the 2nd overall. There's a chance you can deal it for a very good proven NHL player. There's no chance of that with Kakko.
If you aren't going to trade for proven, you might as well keep the pick. Maybe something crazy happens, inflating the pick's value.
