To me that seems like a lot to give up for Kovalchuk IMO. Wolski is useless and Mcdonald has some good upside but i dont know if i would give up 4 almost sure fire prospects.
There is a GM in my league who is in love with the prospects.
I just spent last season trading my way to a group of high end prospects... and now I\'ve turned the corner and I\'ve been trading the prospects for more established players.
Sorry for rambling... back to the offer...
He said he would trade me Kovalchuk, Wolski and Andy McDonald, he is interested in Brassard, Filatov, Mueller and JvR.
Aim I crazy to be thinking about it... should I have pulled the trigger on the spot?
I\'m afraid my judgement has been clouded by my high opinion of these prospects.
Please help!!!

I would do it.
McDonald replaces Brassard in your active lineup which will help this year quite a bit.
Mueller, JVR, Filatov are very good but your active wingers are some of the best out there. Throw in Kovalchuk and its downright scary. It sucks missing out on the suspense of watching a pick like Filatov develop on your team, but you still have Radulov to bank on, and Wolski has very intriguing and undiscussed upside (128 in 56 in his last year of OHL).
Id jump it...

The thing about `sure fire` is that you`re just not sure when they`ll catch fire.
Realistically 5-6 years for anyone of those guys to come close to what Kovy (and to a lesser extent McDonald) is not that much of a stretch. In the meantime there will be more drafts, more prospects to get excited about, and more chances for your newly stacked team to win it all each year.
Would it be a better deal for me long term if I pulled McDonald out and inserted Gagner?
I know he\'s had a rough start... but I might be able to get that swap.

No I dont thin so.
McDonald shores you up nicely this year. Gagner could be a 2-3 year project. Like I said there\'ll be lots of shiny new prospects to acquire in that time...
Do it - period - I know you have more prospects coming out your butt....I would keep MacDonald in the mix
