If you're competing then I'd go with Konecny. If you're rebuilding then I'd say Zegras.
Hey guys, i'm in a keeper points only(goal and assist= 1 pt) and i just want to know who to pick in our future draft, Zegras or Konecny.
I know that Konecny has already a couple of years in the NHL buy is he really a 70 points guy or more?
I really love Zegras and i think he could become THE man in Anaheim. His upside can be more than Konecny ?
Thanks!!
If you're competing then I'd go with Konecny. If you're rebuilding then I'd say Zegras.
Unless this is a super deep league, take the guy who has and will pace for 70 points vs the guy who might get there.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I'd take Konecny here.

Take the proven asset thus far.............Konecny.
Konecny is the right answer here until Zegras is more proven.

I don't see many drafts where Zegras gets taken over Konecny. I moved Konecny last year and still have some doubts about it. I grabbed Zegras in a salary cap league in February knowing he's proved nothing yet. Time will tell. Maybe in a few years this will be a different story.
Take proven here as others have echoed.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
In my mind this is not even close. Konecny.
Building for the future is often a good idea, but not when you have the chance to pick a proven star.

I got the 3rd and the 5th. If Lafreniere and Stutzle/Byfield will be 1 and 2, i could pick the other one Stutzle/Byfield. Dont know who will be 4th, but with the 5th, i could have the choice between Konecny and Zegras. Kaprizov and Shershterkin will be there too probably...
If by any chance you think the GM who has the 4th pick won't go for Konecny, then you could gamble and select a top rookie before. But be careful! Konecny is the catch of your draft.

So, we have a player in Zegras who looks promising but has not played one game in the NHL. On the other hand, we have a player who has put up 47, 49 and 61 (in 66 games) and has yet to hit his prime. I can't believe we are having this discussion really. This is not close. Konecny is 23 years old for god sakes. Whether I'm rebuilding or competing, Konency is by far the better own over the next three years IMO and could well be the better own period. Shiny New Toys Syndrome (:

It's not like Konecny has peaked and is on the downside. He's 23 and still has untapped potential. He is 100% the choice here regardless of team situation. No reason to overthink this.
