My other Captain selection, Sandin, left todays game for xrays on his wrist/arm. It just gets better.

Pretty sure I need more Veleno.
Few big performances yesturday from Canada (Hayton and Veleno), but it's Kirill Marchenko's 5 pointer that helped the most. What was a close race yesturday is taking shape.
I performed the usual full scale double-check. I only had one correction - Nils Hoglander apparently had a 3-4 split and not a 4-3 one, so no actual change (just a tie-breaker consideration). The Germans are the unlucky ones this year having to play in the relegation round, so for the few of us (my included) who had profited from either Bokk (5p), Seider (4p) or Stutzle (3p), that their points in those games don't count.

Foote just got the Tom Wilson treatment. What a terrible call. Ejected for being too big and strong. I hope the IIHF wakes up... the reffing has been terribly inconsistent this tournament. Good to see Lafreniere buzzing around though. Looks back to 100%. That Cozens-Hayton-Lafreniere line just isn't fair.

Third place all to myself yet first place seems so far away. Go swedes and hoglander!
Quick update now that everything is done (and thanks to no 3rd period scoring in the CAN-RUS game, I can use the summary that wasn't updated for the 3rd yet).
Looks like it's a 2 horse race with CrimsonYann and perennial contender watchingthegame. Looking at the comparator:
- Yann has the advantage with only 5 players (all USA) eliminated, whereas WTG had an extra spot for Moritz Seider on defence.
- Sandin's great performance won't change a thing for either of them, as he captains both squads on defence. At forward, with Hayton going down near the end of the game hurts Yann against Lafreniere.
- CrimsonYann is relying on the following : Hayton (inj?), Byfield (CAN); Zamula (RUS); Maccelli, Tanus (FIN); Soderstrom, Gustafsson (SWE)
- watchingthegame is looking for big games out of : Lafreniere, Cozens (CAN), Marchenko (RUS), Kupari (inj) (FIN); Hoglander, Raymond (SWE)
And from a personal standpoing, looks like my big bust picks were Byfield, Kupari (like the rest of us), and Saarsela. And only picking one Russian seems to be biting me in the ass.

Another close but no cigar Tournament for Bubba (:
Byfield, Kupari and Danila Galenyuk (God knows why I went there) were my downfall. Kupari, well, OK. I learned a lesson here with Byfield though, taking a 17 year old is usually not a good idea.
Thanks again to Nights for doing this. Swedes and Fins are currently playing a good game, and I'm Uber pumped for the Gold match!! Team Canada will get their revenge, you heard it here first (:

I'm in rough shape... lost another point so far in this SWE-FIN game. Need a Raymond to Hoglander goal here to ice things for the Swedes (and pull me within striking distance).

Final verification (Alnefelt had a SO instead of an OTL logged for the loss to Russia, and Hayton and Sandin were off by a 1g/1a adjustment, but had the correct total points) and logging performed, so congrats to...

Congrats to CrimsonYann and thank you Nights for all the work you put into this pool every year.
Personally, this was my best result yet cracking the top 10.
Great World Juniors this year (in as much as my work schedule allowed me to watch it as well as the play)
