Conservative is pretty locked in on their 5mill votes. They aren't progressive enough to get new votes. Canada will continue to split the "Left View Votes" between Liberal, NDP and Green. And the stronger NDP and Green do, the closer the Liberals and Conservatives will appear.

This is why people don't believe politicians, and why turnout is down to around 2/3 of the country these days. Even if your vote mattered, you can't believe a word these guys say, from Trudeau's "last election under first past the post", to Ford's "Once the people decide, I believe in democracy, I respect democracy, we move on. The people will have the opportunity, not the courts."
I don't blame anyone for saying to hell with it and finding better things to do with their time.

Letter to voters in Ontario and Quebec, just before the election. Interesting points in here, albeit from an oil executive so what else would he say? To which I'd reply... it doesn't mean the sentiment or numbers are untrue.
Albertans are completely fed up. At some point, the poop will hit the fan, hopefully sooner than later.

Conservatives... take some solace in the fact that we won the popular vote. That's certainly a positive change, despite not getting enough seats to influence real change.
And, hey, also take some solace in this ruling yesterday. At least it shows that the world isn't completely bonkers. Yet.

I'm genuinely interested in what sort of actual action Albertans can take though. Just getting more and more angry is accomplishing nothing. A new strategy has to happen. Kenney suggests re-evaluating transfer payments. I'm not sure how realistic that is and it seems like more of the same angry talk. Some new and creative ideas need to start coming from Alberta aside from give us our pipelines or we stop sending you money. Because that's not happening, no matter how mad Albertans/Saskatchewan gets.
That just shows that things have been bad in this area for at least 20 years! I don't think it's a big deal, because higher voter turnout doesn't mean better government, it just means more representative (in theory). Voter turnout is sky high in Australia due to moronic mandatory voting, and their governments are screwed up as well.
