Here’s the actual hometown where the games will be played....
Did I mention it’s an outdoor rink?
Maybe we will play our games in Mosaic Stadium in Regina until the new rink is built

Lake Valley Thunder
Off season grade = A-
Key players in = Malkin, Werenski, Ehlers, Kreider, Zuccarello, Clague, Connolly, Lindblom, Hallinder, Rittich, McMichael
Key players out = Mittlestadt, Ghostibehere, Galchenyuk, Garland, Pick 1-3, Anisimov, Batherson, Beaudin, Woo, Howden, Strome, Ryan
My head is spinning sorting out all those trades. The weather has changed this off season by the lake, as the Thunder sounds like it’s rolling in loud for the upcoming season determined to rumble into the top tier. The Thunder GM brought in a superb blend of young & old players to help win now, and for most part only cost them prospects 2 or more years away from having any fantasy relevance.
Season outlook = 11th
The big names brought in by Thunder GM have vastly improved the roster for the immediate future. I expect it will be a mad dash late in the season for the final top tier spot, with Thunder dropping out in final few weeks to finish just outside of the playoffs. The big question for the Thunder entering the season will be if Quick can provide the goaltending they need to move into the top echelon of teams. The fans in Lake Valley can’t wait for the season to get underway, season ticket sales are up and they have sold out almost all home games with just single seats remaining.

The Moose was loose this Summer getting forced into salary shedding trades that hurt this contending roster, however despite shedding some of their biggest antlers, team hashtag did manage to bring in young players with promising potential. They reportedly even got close to moving McD.
Season outlook = 4th
Even though the cap crunch hit this team hard, the Moose are flush with productive players and they will continue to be a force in the WHL for many, many years. Similar to how Moose shed their antlers annually and grow a new set every year, this team reloads it’s roster every Summer to take another run. They still have the number one fantasy skater with McD, the number one fantasy goalie with Vasi, and a ton of cap space that will allow them to maintain themselves amongst the contending mix of teams for a very long time. The Moose could be an under the radar team to raise the next WHL banner....

Markham Waxers
Off season grade = D-
Key players in = Berggren, Frolik, pick 1-3
Key players out = Pionk, Werenski, Fabbri, Hallinder, McMichael, Rittich, Anisimov, Watson, Rodrigues, Kahun
It was quite the mass exodus of players out of Markham this off season, with very little notables brought in outside of the third overall selection in Alex Turcotte. Fans have been left befuddled with only 6 active Pros on the team and zero goalies, which has resulted in season tickets being at an all time low.
Season outlook = 23rd
Tank mode is in full effect in Markham, and the fall from being an elite team was swift. The prospect pool has a few high ceiling talents with Dach, Kravtsov, Smith and Turcotte, but the short term future looks very bleak in Markham. At least there are plenty other things to do in town, as many of the young prospects this Summer have been spotted at Joyride 150 and some held an autograph session at the annual Ribfest. Markham GM also flew in recent high picks Dach and Turcotte in effort to sell them on signing their entry level deals and to explore the city. The highlight of the day surprisingly was a tour of the Yogen Fruz corporate headquarters....luckily for the GM, both players are avid frozen yogurt fiends, so they both signed contracts at the conclusion of their visit to the city.
