Yikes. I'd say Leipsic only because I'm more confident in him player more in the NHL. It's hard to recommend Dal Colle for much.
Points-Only... (pretty much) - which guy is likely to get more points over next 5 years?
a) Brendan Leipsic, age 25, RFA-LA
b) Michael Dal Colle, age 23, RFA-NYI

I'll actually go the other way. Dal Colle made massive strides last year in his development.
Skating improved, 2-way game improved. Offensively things finally clicked in the AHL.
He'll never be that top line 30-30 guy once projected...
but...
I think he can carve himself out a role similar to Brett Connolly still.
He's got the chops to hit 20g annually. Become a really productive 3rd liner with solid PP time.
Leipsic is more of a PK fiesty 4th liner who will fill in on the 3rd line sometimes.
His PP potential is minimal, even in LA
He's now on his 4th team - Tor, Veg, Van, LA
Dal Colle is still with NYI. They still see something in him
3 teams have seen Leipsic as expendable

I'll vote Dal Colle, but I feel like there should be a better option than either. MDC might have more trade value though.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I own Leipsic but I’d move him for MDC. Leipsic has had a shot with numerous teams, including weak teams that provided opportunities for him to take a top 6 spot, and he hasn’t stuck. Both are longshots at this point though. You must be in a deep league.
i take Option "C" here...

Fugg you guys... these answer are way to 50-50... LOL.
Well, at least I feel good about being indecisive.
Keep opinions coming!!! - but don't mess up - I'll be bumping this thread in FIVE years (you know me, I'm a thread re-visiter)!!!
*For those interested, this is the (prestigious) 24-team WHL (evans & havana are GMs) where teams are trimming down from 35 players to 25 players by June 30th midnight. 600 total league keepers: 24 teams x 25 keepers.
*LW is a bit thin for me (& the league) these days... I've only got Oskar Lindblom on my roster and need 3LW per day... so I'm up-valuing these guys a tad more than they should be!
As my own team value goes, I just recently cut:
35. David Backes
34. Alex Goligoski
33. Oscar Lindberg
32. Ivan Lodnia
31. Libor Hajek
...
my 21-30 group includes: <J.Boqvist, I.Ratcliffe, M.Joseph, A.Volkov, Cholowski, Joey Anderson>... <Leipsic & Dal Colle>... <Alex Biega, Charlie Lindgren> [not necessarily in that order, but grouped... sort of yes]
5 of those gotta go.
5 of those get to stay.
[And there's only trade interest in the 5 best of that group... LOL]
Mmmmm... IDK if you've watched Leipsic enough.
1. He doesn't play PK. In fact, of his 564min with LA last season, he didn't touch the ice for a second of PK.
2. Where he actually does have some nice touch is on the powerplay. He had 72min, 8th among LA forwards. He's got very solid hockey sense/vision/IQ/planning.
*Now, that's just one highlight... but everything about Leipsic, when I watch say "This guy... could... be the next Jonathan Marchessault."
He skates well, he moves well, he's almost always looking/thinking, he sees guys setting up for a shot and he releases pucks quick himself.
He's done point-per-game in the AHL.
He's gotten PPTOI .
I mean, GMs are seeing something in this guy.
Vegas took him in their expansion draft from the options left by the Leafs.
Vegas ended up showing unexpectedly great depth in 17/18, and traded him to Vancouver... who simply didn't have a spot for him.
VAN got him cheap (for P.Holm) and I think they thought they could waive(/sneak) him down to minors.
He was pretty quickly claimed by LA in Dec, 2018... I think they were around last - and had nearly highest claim position... other teams may have been interested.
Marchessault-ish... it's there... at least I see it, VGK and LA GMs suggestively see something.
I really wish his RFA contract gets settled so I can see how Blake "values" him.
But he's a guy with a LOT of upside... in the right place... he could... Marchessault.
Personally, I like him quite a bit... but yeah, it's a bit frustrating that he doesn't seem to click yet.
I'm not sure if LA has tried him in a top two line wing spot yet... PP2, yes.
