Crosby and Burns for Tavares and Chabot
Hey guys, I play in a league with G, A, PPP, SOGs, +/-, Hits, Blocks, Wins, SV% and SO
I got offered Tavares, Chabot, Ian Cole and Martin Jones for my Crosby, Burns, Tatar and Jake Allen.
It is a keeper league where we keep 1C,1LW,1RW, 2D and 1G.
I have been trying to trade Crosby and Burns now all year and this is the best offer I have gotten. I mostly just want to get a little younger, while still maintaining a winning team.

Might just counter with Crosby, Tatar and Allen for Tavares, Cole and Jones.
I dont know how much I trust Chabot, his numbers have been declining and Burns is still putting up big stats. Might have to keep him another year!

It's always the kunundrum with aging stars. They almost never return actual fantasy value which is usually why your team will often be better riding them into the sunset.
Crosby and Burns will almost certainly (in my opinion) out produce Tavares and Chabot for several years (3 or more). I'm of the opinion you shouldn't really look beyond 2 or 3 years. So id keep Crosby and burns. If you must trade them this isn't a terrible return because people under value Crosby and burns simply because of their age. So often you'll get GMs that are only willing to pay significantly less than this offer. But my advice is keep them as your team will be better for several years.

If it means they contribute to a championship season or two, absolutely. It always boggles my mind some of the posts I read on here about teams that are able to compete now, trying to sell off superstars in order to get younger and look towards the future. The whole point of fantasy sports is to win the championship and money if it is involved. I understand if this roster has Crosby, Burns and a bunch of replacement level players, then of course you want to sell those guys for young studs. But if you are able to compete, why would you sell off two fantasy superstars and worry about the future?
