Letang is supposed to be not serious... Not sure on Dumba.
Any insight on how long they may be injured? I might just pick up one defender off waivers and see what happens for a few days.

Letang is supposed to be not serious... Not sure on Dumba.
The Dumba news I’ve heard is that his hand is messed up pretty bad. The concern is about how it will heal if left alone or whether it requires surgery for the fractures/breaks. Hands/knuckles take a while to heal anyways so it looks like they’re trying to do the right thing. Sounds like their are multiple opinions ranging from it requires surgury and he’s out for possibly the season - to it will heal naturally and he’ll be out for a month
Bad News Everyone!
Fenton on Matt Dumba: "He's had a second opinion. He's expected to have surgery next week...he will be out for a significant time. We have a general timeline...but let's see how surgery goes...upper body." #mnwild
Damnit...first Trochek now Dumba.....
somehow.. Letang doesn't have the serious injury and is still playing. Into his second durable year in a row.

At first, having not seen the fight I thought what a DumbaSS but then I watched it and could not see the injury occur even - the fight w/ Tkachuk was fairly uneventful - and while Dumba seems to have struck Tkachuk's helmet a couple times, I did not see what would require surgery... looks like a freak injury really.
I just wish that the Wild would be more transparent about the injury/recovery timeline expectations and type of surgery
Update: I'm no doctor, but given the injury/surgery performed as well as the questionable recovery timeline and common strength issues associated with a pectoral injury, my bet is that Dumba is done for the season completely. Given that this is to his right peck (he's a right handed shot), the weirdness and uncommon aspect of the injury, I question the impact on Dumba's career in both the short and long-term. I am uncertain as to the long-term effect on his shot.
A conservative estimate on a return to full strength is 3 months, with an advanced strength recovery set at a 4 month timeline. I do not see a reason to rush him back this year at all.
