Toronto could re-acquire Luke Schenn... and then they could use him to get whatever player they want from Holmgren.

Bottom pairing of Oz/Dermott are doing well and have played the most over the last 3 games at 5-on-5. Zaitsev/Gardiner are good and played 2nd most 5-on-5. Rielly and Hainsey are good because of Rielly, but Hainsey is playing top PK minutes with Dermott.
The issue I think people forget is that Leafs Defense is actually pretty even across all 3 lines. So upgrading a 3-6 d-man isn't really that beneficial this yr. Then Leafs have Sandin, Rosen, Borgman, and Lily as potential guys moving forward.
Leafs need on defense is top pairing. Not a 3-6 guy who doesn't kill penalties, or won't get PP time with the Leafs

With the gluttony of D and D prospects Philly has, it only makes sense for them to move one of their guys eventually. Can't have Provorov, Ghost, Sanheim, Myers, Haag, Morin all at once, would be awesome but Philly will be in cap hell from their blue-line. Myers/Sanheim could net a nice return from almost any team.
