For some reason, I'm more willing to vote on the aggregate forecasts (eg. no more than 5 goalies will get 5+ shutouts) than the individual forecasts. Maybe because I see stats trending in that direction.
No Vezina finalist will have previously been a finalist
Mathew Barzal will outpoint John Tavares
Ilya Kovalchuk will score 35+ goals but under 55 points
No more than 5 goalies will get 5+ shutouts
Two of Bergeron/Marchand/Pasta will be NHL's highest scoring duo
Zach Parise will score 70+ points
At least 10 teams will score 10+ SHGs
JT Miller will outpoint Steven Stamkos
Grubauer will be top 4 in SV% among 40+ game goalies
JVR will score more goals than Patrik Laine
Philly will finish in the top 3 among team goals scored
At least 2 who've never scored 55+ points will top 80+
At least 13 defensemen will score 15+ goals
At least 9 players will score 30+ goals without 200 SOG
Jeff Petry will lead the Canadiens in scoring
None of the Above will occur
The long, arduous wait is nearly over! No - not the wait for the 2017-18 NHL regular season to start; I'm talking about the wait until I post my annual 15 Fearless Forecasts. The column goes live on Wednesday October 3rd (the same day the season starts) but I wanted to add a poll into the column so everyone could vote on which forecasts they see coming true, and that means having the poll go live before the actual column does.
This is meant to be a fun exercise, but also one that's useful for fantasy purposes, since of the forecasts which came true last season nearly all were among the top vote getters in last year's poll. So vote smart, and pay attention to the results.
You can choose to wait to vote until the column goes live (I'll add a link here once it does), since there will be a lot of accompanying explanation/details about each forecast. But if you want to vote now, feel free. And you can vote for as many or as few choices as you want. I'm even adding a "none of the above" voting choice if you think none of these 15 fearless forecasts has a shot of actually coming true, which, by the way, has yet to happen since I started doing these forecasts four years ago.
Lastly, please post in the thread why you voted the way you did, and, although a similar thread was already created, go ahead and add your own fearless forecasts here for all to see.
Best of luck to all your teams in the 2018-19 Fantasy season.

For the vezina trophy I think that goalies like Murray, Jones, Gibson, Andersen, Raanta have all good chances to be nominated. And with the number of goals going up there will be fewer SO.

Glas someone added a few of their own....hint hint. My guess is people already did so on the thread that was created a week or so ago.
I like the Leafs prediction for the very reason that they're so talented and deep, but also because ice time will be split evenly. There's a shot for them to have 4 guys hit 80+, which, by the way, would mark the first time for a team to have four guys score 80+ in the same season since........the 2006 Detroit Red Wings (Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Shanahan, Lidstrom)

I posted one in the other thread, but I'll post that one here and add a few more.
The top four goal scorers combined will score more goals than the entire Ottawa Senators.
Tomas Plekanec will be top-two in even strength ice time for the Habs this year (either by the time he is traded or if he finishes the year with the club).
The Strome brothers will be the highest-scoring brother duo in the NHL.
At least five coaches are fired by the all-star break.
Three Nashville players will hit 70 points (they haven't had any in a decade).

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I think it's a combination of Dylan surprising and having a good year, and other brother combinations declining (ie- the Staals). After that, how many brother combinations are there? Some brother combinations won't be up there (Foligno, Ritchie, Subban). Some others only have one brother as a scoring threat (Benn, Granlund, Schenn, Van Riemsdyk, etc.).
If both Stromes put up 50ish points each, they could be in contention, but Eric Staal would need a big step back for that to come through.

Barzal will score fewer than 65 points.
Pettersson will score 80+ points.
Holtby will win the Vezina again.
Matthews finishes outside of top 20 in points.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
My fearless bold prediction is that Connor McDavid wins the scoring title by 30 or more points. He ends the year at 140 points.
