Default Keep 2 - Patrick Kane long term

I need to pick 2 to keep from last years roster (forever)

Erik Karlsson IMO is a lock for #1.

The other is a bit harder. Patrick Kane vs Connor Hellebuyck

Kane is a bit older but will probably have steady production for another 5+ years and he's obviously proven but he's definitely going to decline as all players do.

Hellebuyck is 25 and could be productive for a long time....or not.

Who would you pick for the last spot?

Without any other info, I would keep Helly. But more info could change things.

Yah need more info but in a keep 2 a lot of goalies are going to be available. I think you can bank on 75+ points from Kane more then you can back on 35+ wins for Helluybuck. Goalies are just so volatile I am on team Kane here.

I would keep Helly. Kane will still have good seasons, I just think the years where he dominates year in, year out are almost over. He might still throw in one great season, but I don't expect his numbers to go up too much again.
Helly looks like one of the better young GK in the league.

Please help with mine thanks: https://forums.dobbersports.com/show...-Tolvanen-WHIR

    More Info:

    12 team league -
Skater: G, A, PIM, PPP, GWG, SOG, HIT, BLK
Goalie: W, GA, GAA, SV, SV%, SHO

Thanks for all of the replies so far. Helly seems to be the slight winner so far which makes sense but is he actually an elite tier goalie long term? I guess no one knows but he's only had one real amazing season. Time will tell.

Oh my goodness. Look at all those goalie stats. Hellboy for sure and it's not that close anymore.

See context is everything. I was thinking standard goalie stats GAA, Sv% and Wins when I gave my first answer.

Helle's one of 3-4 goalies to consider keeping in a keep 2... I'd keep him over Kane, but I do wonder what others are on your roster that perhaps should be considered?

    Rest of roster:
Pavelski, Arvidsson, Rakell, Simmonds, B. Schenn, Guentzel, Bailey, J. Anderson, Okposo, Grabner, Krug, Ristolainen, Larsson, Phaneuf, Skjei, Lehner, C. Anderson

Keeper is new to me so I'm struggling a bit to figure out longer term value for these guys. Usually I just consider immediate performance like most in a one-year.

Edit: It's a keep 2 this year, keep 4 next and so on. We're easing into long-term keeper.

100% Helly given the new info. All those GK stats. I like a couple of players on your roster otherwise, but not near Helly.

with 42.8% of cats dedicated to two G slots - you keep Helle - agreed. If you have two absolute G studs - you only really will need to go win 40-50% of forward cats to win every week. Just load the rest of your D with guys that fill PIM/SOG/BLK/HIT and you'll really frustrate your pool IE: Petry/Phaneuf/EJohnson/Nurse most are mid-late round picks all offer 150+ SOG/H/BLK - ELITE ONE'S that most will target early - Risto/Provorov/Byfuglien -- Weber will be a nice late round IR stash.

I agree, keep the goaltender. That will leave you with studs in two of the hardest positions to fill (D and G) and you can focus on piling up your offense right away in the draft. In a keep two there should be tons of high end forwards of Kane's caliber or better to pick from.
