I am in a 12 team full dynasty league. My team is in rebuilding phase and won't be competitive for the next 2 - 3 years. Another owner has offered me his Matthews and Frost for my Mackinnon. Categories are G, A, Points, SOG, Hit, FOW.
I like Mack more but could use the extra asset and Frost is a good prospect. Should I accept this trade?

I'd pass. I valued MacKinnon quite a bit more than I did Matthews BEFORE JT got to town. I value MacKinnon even more now. Nothing against Morgan Frost as a prospect, but I would want a much better 2nd option if I am taking Matthews and giving up MacKinnon.

Funny everyone's is over the roof for Matthews but for me I'm keeping macky. Mathews might be better some years but I gotta think it will be close. I would want Matthews also trust me but frost isn't a good enough second piece for me considering macky is doing what you want Mathews to do

I think Matthews is a lot closer to MacKinnon than others believe. Having said that, I?d counter or decline if that is the opening offer. You?ll probably be able to get a better prospect than Frost.
I'm not taking this deal unless Babcock ceases being coach, since so long as he's there Matthews won't get the deployment to rival Mac's scoring

I'll echo what others are saying here - you need an upgrade on Frost before this deal gets done.

If I was drafting in a new league, I choose Matthews before MacKinnen, so yes, I would accept the deal, especially if you are rebuilding and can let Matthews develop his game more.

What is a Morgan Frost? We are talking about MacKinnon and Matthews. These three names should not be in the same sentence together.
- I said... "God damn this tablet is heavy!"
Matthews and MacKinnon will likely both be in the discussion for 2nd in league scoring (behind McDavid) for the next decade. Either one could edge the other any given year IMO.
I think both sides could be argued. If I owned Matthews, I'd want more than Frost to move him for MacKinnon and vice versa. Add a significant piece and I would choose that side. Insignificant piece, ala Frost and I'd just stick with what I got.
I traded my Matthews and Rantanen for his Mackinnon and the #2 pick (Svechnikov). I value Mackinnon a fair bit more than Matthews for the usage/coaching reasons mentioned above.

I think this is a lot closer than people think. Im a Mack owner but a Leafs fan. Matthews scored more goals as a 19 year old than Mack did in his career best season. It also took Mack 5 seasons to be a point per game player where as it took Matthews 2 seasons. Matthews also isnt reliant on PP time for production and I could see him finally getting moved to the first unit this year, I mean how is your best player not on your first PP unit? Matthews also has a better plus/minus. Anyways I basically see this as a lateral move, strictly based on Matthews room to improve and the lack of proven, consistent elite production from Mack besides 1 season.
