    Default Schneider vs. Raanta

    league in sig.

Ive been offered Schneider + Puljujarvi vs. Raanta.

    My main concerns are that
    1. Schneider went into hip surgery this offseason
    2. Raanta have better stats, but can he starts 60+ games like Schneider do when healthy?
    3. I have Arizona handcuff with Kuemper
    4. Raanta is cheaper
    5. Puljujarvi will breakouts eventually

Hmmm considering Darling and Kuemper are your other two goalies, I'd hold onto Raanta.

That's tough, but I like Raanta a touch more as well.

you need to grab Kinkaid - wherever he is.

I like Raanta more than Schneids, but Pulj, is the swing for me
I do this deal as well.

in a couple years there will likely be threads on here of Pulj 1-1 for Raanta

Schneids won't be ready to start the season - so you need o secure NJ cuffs

Schneider is in a bind due to the surgery, otherwise I like him. I think Arizona surprises ppl this year however, and for that I take Raanta

Thanks for you answer so far!

The other Gm also have Kinkaid, I could send him Kuemper in return of Kinkaid

Assuming you are easily able to keep all players involved, I would definitely make this trade. While Raanta will likely have the better season in 18-19, I think that's largely due to health at this point with Schneider coming off a major hip surgery. Lest we forget, this is a similar (the same?) type of surgery that Rinne had a few years back, and he seems to have been able to come back close to full health but it took some time to reach that outcome. The real kicker here is Puljujarvi, and he is the reason this deal sways in your favor.

I agree with the other comments re: Kinkaid, and I think he's also a key to this deal. If I understand correctly, you can include Kuemper and receive Kinkaid as well? That being the case, I would definitely make this deal and not look back.

Schneider + Kinkaid + Puljujarvi seems like a wonderful return for Raanta + Kuemper.

It would make sense for him to lock up the handcuff, unless of course he is operating under the assumption that Kinkaid has passed Schneider, and the latter is roast beast or something. That obviously isn't the case, as Schneider has been a really reliable Goaltender for the majority of his career both in terms of starting lots of games and posting good rate stats. Good luck to you!

I wouldn't have done the original deal in your situation, but this swap of starter & handcuff makes it worth it.

Keep raanta-Schneider is garbage. I've had him twice in the last few years and, looking at his stats, he just keeps getting worse. He's going to have a short leash this season. Im biased because he's burned me twice, but I don't trust Schneider

Would have done it mostly because of Puljujarvi and the backups swap, but the other gm is holding off at the moment.

Will try to acquire Mrazek for cheap instead

As soon as I saw that the other GM had Kinkaid I thought this deal might not happen. He is being smart in trying to snag Raanta with what's left of Schneider's name and trade value and then run with 2 solid Gs since Kinkaid could very much take over the Jersey nets for good this season.
