Gostisbehere
Klingberg
Josi
Doughty
Werenski
I would trade Werenski before Gostisbehere. You have 4 very good defence, I would upgrade on Nolan.
Hi Everyone!
Currently have these D ranked for team #1 (points only Keeper):
Klingberg
Gostesbehere
Josi
Doughty
Werenski
Do I have the ranking right, and would you trade away Werenski for a fwd upgrade or pick? Or I sell High on Gostisbehere and hope Werenski can produce close to Gostisbehere next year? I normally only keep 4 D
Advice / Thoughts?
thanks!

Gents - thanks - helps me a lot. This is likely the way I will go unless I get a crazy offer for others.
No one thinks Werenski could put up numbers close to the others next year? I would be selling high on others.
Thanks!

The risk of keeping Werenski for the hope that he will repeat last year is IMO far too high relative to the certainty of what the other D you listed would produce.

The problem is Werenski doesn't have much value now. Plenty of owner will try and steal him. Of that I am certain. He's a 50-55 point scorer in my eyes. Ranking wise id have Ghostisbehere, Klingberg, Doughty, Josi.
Werenski has the Jones factor. I don?t see Werenski giving Ghost or Klingberg competition for points because of Jones.
IMO moving Ghost or Klingberg is not selling high. They are high end point producers. I as well feel Ghost will out produce Klingberg at some point. That being said I would be happy to own either.

Could Werenski do that, sure. Is it likely? Other than Doughty, not so much. I have Werenski in my dynasty league, and I like him. But he's not Klingberg, Gostisbehere or Josi for points.
Regarding the bolded, you wouldn't be selling high on Klingberg, this is what he is. So you'd be selling him as what he is. Selling high is an unsustainable run or on an impending decline, which isn't what he's doing. I'm not sure it's really selling high on Gostisbehere or Josi, either. Josi has Subban & Ellis; Gostisbehere has Provorov, but they've proven they can get very good point totals in those situations. So if you want to sell Doughty, maybe that works since you like Werenski so much.

Long-term keeper:
1. Ghost
2. Werenski
3. Klingberg
4. Doughty
5. Josi
My rationale...
Ghost is Ghost. He's carved out his role perfectly in Philly. Provorov is legit but he's so well-rounded, the Flyers will maximize Ghost for his offense - that's his bread and butter.
Werenski is still untapped and has elite potential offensively. Man, I love this dude. Yeah, Jones is there, but he'll still be 50-50+ soon IMO. And he's a baby.
Klingberg is great right now, but lets see what Dallas does long-term. If they underachieve, something will give there. While I think Klingberg is awesome, there's just something about him, fantasy-wise, that I am shaky about.
I think Doughty is 50+ in the bank for the foreseeable future. Let's see if he gets traded and where he ends up.
Josi is a stud. The problem is, Nashville has 4 studs. And they will achieve by committee. Their goal moving forward is Cup or bust, not padding player stats.

Hi Everyone- thank you for the great feedback. I will see what the trade market is for either Werenski , Doughty, Josi and try to get the highest return!
Before this year, I was ready to move Doughty, but he has become such a consistent player that it’s difficult to move that.
If Werenski would of gotten 10 more assist, he would be equal with Josi (8 games played less) and Doughty given extra points given to goals in my league.
I think all 3 can score 10-15 goals a year... then it’s down to pp usage and team scoring.
All other thoughts welcome!

Hi Folks - just numbing here to see if there are any other thoughts, the last 3-4 posts favoured keeping Werenski.
His goal totals this year are very attractive.
Am I overthinking this one? Lol

Yes I think you're over thinking it. Goals don't mean a whole lot in Pts only keepers but may only be a slight indication on the future production of said player. Now having said that, Werenski is no doubt a talented young defenceman with a very bright future but if you look at his situation compared to the others stated in the original post, at this point he is a #2 D man (in terms of offensive production). Basically he's taking a back seat (for now) to Seth Jones. In five years we may look at this and Werenski may possibly become the best of the group but for now I'd say he has the lowest value of the bunch. Not saying he sucks or anything but the others are just that good.
For next season I got Ghost at about 60 pts, Doughty about 55, Josi about 55 and Werenski at about 45 pts.
