Default My team is on Fire (thoughts please)? - I'll Rep

I started the year pretty slow, was down near the bottom of the standings, now i'm tied for 5th in FP, and tied for 6th in FP/G. That is with my goaltending still being mediocre so far (6-9-2, 1 assist).

    Between Oct 26 - Nov 7, I am first in FP (146.5, 2.76 FP/G), 2nd place is 136.5 and 2.35.

My D has been fairly suspect, although Buff's good start (despite lack of goals) pulls up Hamilton's somewhat slow start. Aho hasn't even scored a goal yet, but he's still on a 50 pt pace. I think I have good depth too. Going into the year, people felt my keepers were in the bottom half of the league, but so far it's looking like Kuzy, Hall, Wheeler and Monahan is much better than people thought.

Now I don't necessarily expect all of them to keep up their current points per game, but none of their shooting percentages are out of wack.

I just plugged Boeser into my lineup for the first time tonight, since I had him in my rookie slot/didn't have room to activate him w/o dropping someone previously. Now that Price is on IR, able to have Boeser active.

How does my lineup look/do you think it's reasonable to assume all 4 of my keepers will outperform projections (Monahan: 60-65, Wheeler: 70-75, Kuzy: 65+, Hall: 60-65)? I think a lot of places projected Hall in the range referenced because they assume he'll miss games.

If my team keeps doing well, I'll probably look into the rental market to sure up any weak spots I have.

Not sure what's going on with Price, but obviously when I activate him, I'll have to drop someone, or put Boeser back into the rookie slot. Is Boeser a no brainer to start for right now, over guys like Perry and Zuc, and if so, who would you drop from my bench (obviously excluding goalie)? Also, Hamilton isn't doing much right now, just wondering if Leddy would be a good guy to add from free agent market to fill in for Hamilton until he heats up? I'll obviously have to do some roster manoeuvring, so if I activate Price and leave Boeser active, I'm only going to want to drop 1 guy, thus won't be able to add Leddy. I could also put Boeser back into rookie slot when I activate Price, drop 1 guy still and add Leddy. Would you keep Hamilton in starting line-up, or try something different?

Boeser should be active over Perry
Price should be a keeper over Monahan
Leddy should be added over Klefbom and then activated and put Dougie on the bench
Your range for those players all look about right, though I think Kuzy and Hall will exceed those numbers.

Thanks for the feedback. I have no say in Price being a keeper, I drafted him last year, but didn't have room to keep him after the year, and so I drafted him again this year. As of right now, I have no expiring player after this year, just given I got Monahan in a trade last year and he was a 3, so my only option was to top him up to 4, or leave him at 2 going into this year, but I preferred Wheeler at 4 so left Monahan at 2.

It doesn't mean I can't swing a trade later and open up a keeper slot, but goalies are rarely kept in my league, for instance only Holtby was kept, and Murray was carried over as someone's rookie in terms of going into this year. I even have the option to sign Aho to 1 or 2 years if I happen to cut my contracts down to 3, but I think it's safe to assume Monahan will still be better than Aho next year.

I didn't add Leddy last night, but can drop Klefbom and add him tonight. I thought there were high expectations for Klef coming into the year? You expect Leddy to be better for ROS? I would guess Hamilton is still the better guy to start once he gets going, you're just saying Leddy for now? I'll probably still start Hamilton tonight, since I didn't have a guy I wanted to replace him with.

You don't think Wheeler will exceed 70-75, even though he's already got 21 in 14? To get 80, he would need 59 pts in last 70 games. If he gets 75, that's 54 pts in last 70 games. Also, what do you expect points wise for Hall and Kuzy? It seemed your projections were based on Hall missing some games, but he's looking good and healthy so far (knock on wood).
