Yes because I doubt Saros becomes an important piece for you this year. He definitely won't be a keeper either.
Steve Mason has been dropped in my league. Team in signature. Drop Saros for him?
thanks,

Yes, I think Mason is going to do great in Winnipeg.
Yes, if you have a start 2 goalies in a roto league, you are going to need another reliable starter.
I'd for sure take Mason over Howard. Pretty close with Riemer, but I think I'd lean Mason.
Great question - tough call.
Definitely better to have 3 starters in a start 2 roto... but with W, SV% and GAA as cats, I understand the dilemma.
Might come down to whether you believe in NSH or WPG more. Without Ellis til Jan, perhaps NSH isn't as strong defensively? With Kuli/Myers back, perhaps WPG is finally decent defensively?
If it's me, I go Mason. But fully appreciate arguments to go/keep Saros.

Mason is a legitimate #1 starter on a much better defensive team this season. They didn't trade for him to not play.
I'd drop Saros for Mason 10 times out of 10.

Rookie:
Mason is an up and down goalie. The fact that he started the season with a down has put an exclamation mark on it. The worrying part is not as much Mason as it is Hellebuyck. If Mason had a weak backup I would not be so worried about him because he know he will pull it together. Even if Helly plays well Maurice is going to play Mason a lot out of respect for the organization giving him that contract. I'm sure Mason will win back the job, then lose it again, then win it back, then...etc etc. Mediocre goalie who can put up good numbers in stretches.

Barring injury or a series of utter meltdowns I think Howard will play 50-55 and win about 25-30. Mason likely 45-50 with 20-25 wins. If you believe the math (and my assumptions) Howard would be the better option.

I'd personally take Reimer over both mason and howard. But that's because I have! need to stand by my gut feeling that Reimer will challenge for the 1A job in Florida and do so successfully. I don't trust Howard and mason has done pretty much nothing since his early days in Columbus for me to feel he's going to "Turn it Around" in Winnipeg especially with the unpredictability of that team (which I think can be attributed to, at least in part, Maurice and his best before date coming close).
If you happened to mention Smith being available, I think HE is the goalie to have a revival season on his new team and finish well ahead of Mason by seasons end.
would you drop Luongo for him?
key is i have Helly, and it would give the the Wpg tandem.
On the other hand, I think i may be better off with 3 starters
