    Default Forward-Defenceman comparisons

I'm trying to gauge values of forwards compared to defensemen. I've always just used what I think of the forward compared to what I think of the D, but I'm wondering what others do.

An 80 point forward is worth ?? point D.
    A 70 point forward is worth ?? point D.
    Etc, etc.....

Anyone have a formula that they use in general?
Thanks for any input. This could be an interesting discussion.

It's all about replacement level players. If there are 50 point forwards on the FA/WW but the best available D-men are just 20 point guys, then 40 point D-men become as valuable as 70 point forwards (or something like that).

Pengwin7 always has some great posts about this topic, try finding some old posts from him. Or maybe he notices this thread and posts something new.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't personally play in points-only leagues, so I haven't put too much thought into this because it's a completely different story in multi-cat leagues where D-men usually provide peripheral stats more than anything.
