It wasn't that "obvious"; it was questionable at best. It was also clearly a make up call for the missed call a minute earlier, which is brutal. Also, you want to talk about "obvious" penalties? How about calling Kessel, on the exact same play, for the "obvious" dive due to the questionable interference?

Would actual murder get someone a minor penalty at this point???

Also, to suggest that I can't take consistency into the equation when deciding whether or not I am upset about this call, is absolutely ridiculous. The EXACT reason that this kind of thing IS upsetting, is because of the lack of consistency. It is a HUGE factor. I would think that most true hockey fans, would understand that. If they don't call a penalty for a play, and then call a penalty for a completely similar play a minute later, THAT is upsetting. How come mine is a penalty, but yours isn't? It is a completely legitimate question, and for you to suggest otherwise is absurd.

Offsetting minors - 2 min for murder and 2 min for dying.

I am completely chill. I also don't like it when somebody feels the need to tell me when I can, and can't become upset :-)

Is it just me or are the Pens enjoying some quick whistles in their own end?

No it's not just you. When Doumolin fell over they blew the whistle before he could even think about starting to get back up. They assumed he was injured before he even hit the ice haha

In fairness there are instances in the UFC where the guy is knocked out before hitting the ground. I just don't think that happened here.

Can we all agree that the Pens fans freaking out about the 'goal' is kind of hilarious?

Ya that's silly. Although I saw the top view first and swore it was in. You see the front angled view right after and realize it wasn't in.

Yes we can. And even if it did go in it might not have counted. Went of Kessel s glove. Would have been a long review. Haha

I get what you're saying Rylant.

Haven't had a chance to watch the game or this play in particular, just getting off of work, but I agree that the swings in what is called as a penalty to what isn't is extremely frustrating. If the ref legitimately misses a call because it was behind the play then I can understand, please just don't call a play differently relative to the score, the time of the game, or the time of the season, right?
