Decent 3rd or 4th D, 40 point ceiling..good peripherals
I know he slipped in the draft but he's shown some flashes. What do you see as his floor/ceiling?

Impossible to really say at this time. Young D take time to develop and can either rise well above expectations, or fail to live up to any of them.
If I had to hazard a guess...
Floor - #4/5 D, good periphs, puts up maybe 20-25 points a year.
Ceiling - #2 D, plays in all situations, good periphs all around, hovers around 40ish points a year.
Top pair with Kyle Wood in the desert - 40-45 pt ceiling.

We are talking about his potential, and what I've seen from him this season is the makings of a future top 2. How long it takes for him to get there is anyone's guess.
Will be interesting to see if OEL bolts as a UFA in 2 years.
DeAngelo isn't a top 2 d-man - powerplay specialist, but not top pair d-man.
Based on my observations of watching Coyotes and Roadrunner games.

I agree with Glorybe23. DeAngelo will at best be a 2nd pairing D-man who is a pp catalyst.
If OEL re-signs a long-term deal in the desert, that hurts Chychrun quite a bit, as he won't be seeing any 1st pp unit time then between OEL/DeAngelo.
Also depends on what Kyle Wood becomes, if he keeps trending up, he looks like a #2, #3 D as well.
he's got tremendous potential in real life, but the issue in fantasy is the depth chart. no chance he puts up too many points with OEL and Deangelo around. and even if Deangelo's issues ruin him, they're grooming kyle wood in the minors to run the PP as well.
I'd think of him as another ryan murray. great real life dman, but he'll be a shutdown dman with no chance of putting up big offensive numbers behind werenski and jones. unless your league counts peripherals, his value will be limited.
^ That is a very good analysis. I like the Ryan Murray comparison. My first thought was Hampus Lindholm. Same idea. I'd like him in real life, but if he hits a hot streak in the fantasy world, I'm trading him for whatever I can get.
I'm really curious to see how Chychrun develops. It seems that Arizona brass have high hopes for him and it was one of the reasons to get rid of Michael Stone.

I know that you can't believe everything you read on the internet, but this article suggests that Chychrun could be developed as more of a responsible offensive dman. But that said, he does seem to teeter on the edge of fantasy relevance in his upside.
For what it's worth, I'm hanging onto him for another year as my defensive stash (we don't have a farm system) with the hope that a PP1 spot opens up after DeAngelo goes on another tirade against a ref, colleague, fan and/or coach.

I believe he has the ability to be a 1/2Dman for years. Let's not forget he was one of the top ranked players for most of his draft year and his stock slipped as the draft got closer. It's not like he is coming out of no where. I also think his draft position slip motivates him. He is prepared to show a lot of GMs that they made a mistake passing on him.
