With each passing year it seems like Carlson will at best be a Doughty in fantasy, meaning a great year mixed in with decent ones, but overrated as a whole. Werenski might take a step back next year, ala some other recent rookie d-men, but he might be the choice. But I agree it's pretty close, especially with it not being points only.

Werenski is like a OEL type player. Can skate fast, good vision, good shot and can defend good. He is going to be top pairing d getting lots of minutes ESP and PPP. Werenski for me.

Werenski for me, although I agree he might take a step back next season. I'm all about the long term approach here. The only thing that might make me pause is if you were going for it all next year.
