I would stick with the D core you have; none of those FA make my eyes go wide open. Werenski has cooled off as expected never playing this type of long tough schedule.
I'm trying to figure out if some FA D-men are an upgrade over what I have already, ROS (likely not keeper-level). In order to run with the top of my pool (I'm currently in third, but it is very close from 1-3 with a big gap before 4), I probably need to be clicking at a fantasy point per game pace...most of my D is well below that over the past weeks. Based on how my league scores, here are the averages for the D on my team as well as some potential pickups.
Player / year fantasy point per game average / last month fppg / last 14 days fppg
McDonagh / 1.0 / 0.7 / 0.5
Carlson / 0.9 / 1.2 / 0.5
Trouba / 0.9 / 0.9 / 1.4
Giordano / 0.8 / 0.6 / 0.4
Hamilton / 0.8 / 0.8 / 0.6
Josi / 0.7 / 0.3 / 0.3
Larsson / 0.9 / 1.6 / 1.4
Jones / 0.9 / 0.8 / 1.2
Werenski / 0.9 / 0.8 / 1.3
Leddy / 0.7 / 1.2 / 0.9
Parayko / 0.7 / 0.9 / 1.2
Pietrangelo / 0.7 / 0.9 / 1.4
Given the keeper structure of the league, I am probably looking to keep exactly one D for next year. So if it doesn't look like, say, Giordano has as much future value as Carlson or Josi and one of those free agents has more value than Gio for the rest of the season, then I'm dumping him now.
