    Default Steve Mason playoff push?

It seems like every year Steve Mason is pretty bad for most of the season before going on an absolutely amazing run at the end of the season as Philly is pushing for but just misses the playoffs. Do you guys expect him to make another one of those great runs to close out the season / fantasy playoffs?

A few things to consider...the Flyers have a lot of b2bs in the second half which will eat into Mason's starts. There's also the possibility they fall further out of it and become sellers. Even Mason's name is out there. And then there's just the fact that he hasn't played well so far, so despite his history of turning things around maybe this time he doesn't/ Lots of uncertainty in that crease.

First, Mason's splits aren't quite that clean. March isn't really a good month for him over his career. It's not really bad, but it's not great. However, he has had a good month of March before for the Flyers. Here's his career splits, and you can get annual ones as well from there via a drop-down:

Even in his runs over the last few years, he's had some real clunkers among the games, and he's been hurt some as well. I'd expect both goalies to be slightly improved, as they are both normally better than they have been over the year to date. I thin Mason has had his really hot run with nobody to share the crease with, and he may be worn down from playing too much.

Don't rule out the Flyers moving him or Neuvirth for an upgrade, or even a lateral move to try and spark something.

What's the cost of acquiring him?
