Just wondering if I chose the right keepers for my yahoo team in my team sig. Keepers are in bold. Last year my team didn't have much for offensive forwards (other then giroux) but I had pretty solid dmen so after asking the dobber community I went with the concensus and kept Giroux,Josi,Hedman and Dubnyk (16 team league with most keeping a goalie so if you have a good one hes wise to keep).
So entering this past year I was making sure I would have greater options as keepers. Gaudreau and Kucherov are already elite talents and are just starting their prime. Giroux though a bit older at 28 is still amongst the top players in the nhl and the go-to guy on philly. As for keeping Crawford it's a no brainer being that high end goalies are scarce.
The only other players that were in the mix were scheifele cus hes gonna be a stud in a great situation and Josi cus hes amongst the elite point producing dmen but also gives great peripherals.
I figured If I exposed giroux,gaudreau,kucherov or crawford I'd have zero chance redrafting 1 where as I might be able to get 1 of scheifele/josi with my first pick (which is in the 2nd round). Anyways those are my thoughts. Yours?

Scheifele might slip, especially with no FW. Josi/Hedman could as well. I might even look at trading one of Kuch/Gaudreau to recap a first round pick, and then keep Josi. The wingers just aren't as rounded out as I would want my four keepers to be.

We're only able to make trades during the season so not able to anymore. I agree getting an asset rather then losing a player for nothing is ideal but I couldn't because it would've weakened my chances at playoffs/championship.

I think there four you listed are the right choices, it's just tough letting Scheifele/Josi go.

ya I get what you guys are saying. My thinking is giroux has more trade value then josi in most peoples minds so the cost to aquire a giroux would be more then josi. My plan if I cant redraft josi is to try to trade for him which i think i can do at a reasonable cost.

Me personally I would rather go into draft with piece at each position so no reaching is needed; you want to keep Kuch/Johnny I totally understand but Josi is a super valuable piece and if your opponents no their poo they are gonna gobble him up immediately ESPECIALLY with the BLK category; I value Scheifele more than G at this point; they are moving in different directions points wise over past 3 seasons; G can easily rebound and hit 75 but the 93 point season was fueled by Jagr and a functioning Timmonen. Crwaford as you said no brainer stud and Gaudreau is honestly starting to make a case for most dangerous player in the game today he must be kept; looking at 80 plus this season for Mr. Hockey.

Ya you have a tough choice. I know dropping Giroux may seem crazy, but with 16 teams I can imagine that D are gone so quick and C are just so abundant in Yahoo that it would be wise to keep at least one D man especially one of Josi caliber and his crazy block totals.
Johnny is a special talent and winger , same with Kucherov. You will have a lot harder time filling up the wings than C (even in my 12 team draft was tough).
At the end of the day you know your league the best and if you think you will be able to get a d like josi as well as another piece from Giroux than thats your call.
