Why not take it in the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. She can be all yours, dog leash included, for just $40,000....

For that price, I'm pretty sure she'll find a taker. That movie (and series) is a classic for so many people. Heck, I'm amazed Chevy Chase himself doesn't own it...

EDIT: Aha... Although this particular car is believed to be used in the filming of the movie, there is no documentation that comes with the car.

That little caveat is probably worth $40-80K on the asking price. As much as the Vacation movies, and the original in particular, are classics it's not worth 7 figures like some iconic movie cars are. Still it's likely worth double or triple the asking price if you could document that it was in the movie, and more than that to the right collector. As it is you have to treat it as a thoroughly top-notch reproduction. So many little touches like the dog leash on the bumper that nod to the movie.

I need to replace that movie. I had it years ago on VHS but it eventually wore out and I'm really in the mood to watch it again after seeing this.

Saw the Ecto-1 sell for about $80k on the Barrett Jackson auctions a while ago. That one was just a promo mock-up and not actually used in filming either. Big money when you find the right collectors for stuff like this. Now, if someone were going to sell me a working Millennium Falcon, I'd pretty much sign over whatever they wanted!

The original Ecto-1 would be worth a mint. Where the Family Truckster from the movie is based on, I believe, a late 70's Ford station wagon, Ecto-1 is a late 50's Caddy. Much more beautiful car as a base to build from. As a car guy it kind of gets me thinking about some of the great movie cars and which ones I'd love to own.

The '67 Plymouth GTX from Tommy Boy:

Eleanor from the re-make of Gone In 60 Seconds:

The '73 Ford Falcon XB GT from Mad Max:

Eleanor is one of the sweetest cars I've ever seen.

As for a few others I wouldn't say no to:
    New-Age Batmobile

Fast and the Furious 6 gettaway car

Vin Diesel's supped up Challenger SRT8 in FF6

Not just any Caddy either, it was a specially made Miller-Meteor ambulance version. Very limited run. I've been looking for something similar since I was a teenager.

I'd also love to come into possession of a Delta 88. So many hours watching Sam Raimi mod them out and blow them up. Just such an iconic machine for my childhood.
