Definitely a good time for him to be coming back now that there is some space freed up by the deputing UFAs.
I didn't even realize he was coming back but could be a nice depth add for the Blues.

NEWS UPDATE
Sobotka is expected to return to the NHL after spending the last two seasons playing for Omsk Avangard in Russia, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports.
ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS
Sobotka's agent reportedly is paving the way for the 28-year-old to rejoin the Blues in 2016-17. A quality setup man who can work the power play, Sobotka originally left St. Louis in the summer of 2014, after the Blues failed to agree to terms with the Russian -- he was a restricted free agent at the time and subsequently won a one-year arbitration award valued at $2.725 million. In 381 regular-season contests between the Bruins and Blues, Sobotka has generated 35 goals and 88 assists. If David Backes and/or Troy Brouwer decide to sign with another club in free agency, Sobotka may be able to fill the void to some degree. Still, we'd take this news with a grain of salt; the talented center flirted with a return to the Blues last season, only for those plans to fall through.
Definitely a good time for him to be coming back now that there is some space freed up by the deputing UFAs.

I like this player a lot. Should be a nice boost to the Blues.

How did he do in his seasons in the KHL ?
34 point in 44 games last season... injured for some part of the season

Vladimir Sobotka is Russian? I'm not so sure about that, or the source. He would be a great pick up for the Blues, IMO.
I don't blame anyone for assuming everyone in the KHL is Russian.

Until he put a Blues jersey on skated onto the ice for them in camp I've been taking a wait and see approach. Would not surprise me at all if he stays in the KHL.
Blues GM: Sobotka still says he's coming back:

Maybe, like the rest of the hockey world he's waiting to see where Vesey signs!

Once he signs there should be a new thread predicting how many games he'll be wearing a hospital gown vs. a hockey jersey. or who will play more games - Sobotka or Lupul.
If he's floating in the last couple rounds of my pool, I'll take the risk on him though
