Just saw this on TSN.
Looks like the Jackets want to send Filatov down to a junior team.

Basically, if RF will allow it they will send Filatov down to the Wolves.

Unsure what this means. It\'s still not 100%.
Looks like Filatov will be playing tonight against the Wild.

I don\'t think that means they want to send him down (yet), I read that as they just want to know what their options are.
With Brassard and Torres hurt I\'d think they\'ll keep him up for a bit. But at this point I\'d say odds are against him sticking for the year, but it\'s possible with some big games. I read that last night he showed some good skill but it didn\'t sound like he blew anyone away. He should get a couple more chances though.

That\'s exactly what it is, if they have the option of sending him to junior they would much rather do that and avoid burning up a year of his entry level contract (I believe that\'s how it works and correct me if I\'m wrong).I don\'t think that means they want to send him down (yet), I read that as they just want to know what their options are.

With the recent injuries and players allowed to play 9 games before their contract kicks in the Blue Jackets will fully take advantage of this in further evaluating Filatov\'s performance since he\'s missed half of training camp.

This from the Columbus dispatch...Words from Hitch on a few players and looks like they made some decisions but don\'t say who.
Hitch said he was impressed with Filatov.

lots of speculation going on here.
Let\'s not lose the point of the article. There are lots of if\'s The KHL wants Filatov to play for them if he gets sent down. That is meanless unless he gets send down.
Which he won;t. Hes too good. He\'ll adjust quickly and keep his spot. (I\'m hopeful)

Filatov on the 4th line...
F4: Nikita Filatov -- Manny Malhotra -- Jared Boll
Minny\'s
F4: Derek Boogaard -- Krys Kolanos -- Cal Clutterbuck
now if these kids face off head to head, I can see the coach testing Filatov against some big guys to determine whether or not he is physically capable of truly playing in the NHL right now.
Thoughts?

well nevermind, this wsa posted shortly after:
Lineup Change
The Blue Jackets took one look at the Minnesota Wild\'s lineup for tonight\'s game in Nationwide Arena and decided not to play center/winger Nikita Filatov. Tom Sestito will take Filatov\'s spot in the lineup.
The Wild will dress a large lineup tonight, full of guys who tend to enjoy physical play. Derek Boogaard is among them. Filatov is still getting used to the smaller North American ice surfaces, so he\'s prone to carrying the puck too long in an effort to make a play.
Put bluntly: they don\'t want the young kid to get his head taken off by a woolly Wild player.
Sestito, who still could make the club, goes in. Filatov will dress Sunday in Toronto.

With all of those forwards and only one to keep, looks like Filatov is going to get cut and Dorsett/Sestito will make the team. I think Hitch feels he has enough offensive-minded/defensive-liabilities on this team (Huselius) already...and thus will go for a more \"sure\" thing. Hitchcock\'s teams don\'t play to win...they play not to lose.
It\'s not like Filatov was given a lot of opportunity playing 12 minutes on a weak line...they\'re going to bring him along slowly, which is probably a good thing for his overall development.
