TIP#1: You want healthy players on value contracts
TIP#2: Everyone on the internet is full of shit. Don't listen to any of them.

I went through this last summer.... New H2H deep dynasty league... There was a ton of useful advise and info given

    What are:
    - the categories
    - the number of players
    - number of teams
    - salary cap

Need to know there things before moving forward as the make up of the league wildly changes the value of players.

A lot of the strategies are the same as roto, except now you really need to look into streaming options, and what players you want on your team to maximize games played during the playoff weeks.

    • The Capwise Hockey Assocation (CHA) is a collection of 7 leagues, all of which follow the same rulebook.
    • CHA leagues are head-to-head, salary cap, dynasty leagues.
    • The league utilizes Fantrax.com for scoring purposes, but most activity takes place on the forum or the offline spreadsheet.
    • Scoring categories are: goals, assists, plus-minus rating, penalty minutes, special teams goals, special teams assists, game-winning goals, shots on goal, face-off wins, hits, and blocked shots for skaters; wins, goals-against average, saves, save percentage, and shutouts for goaltenders.
    • Lineups are set daily with the following roster positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, SKTR, SKTR, D, D, D, D, G, G, plus 7 reserve players and 4 IR slots.
    • In addition to the 21-man "varsity" roster, each GM manages a 30-man "junior varsity" (prospect) roster. Skaters with fewer than 93 regular season NHL GP, and goalies with fewer than 60 regular season NHL GP are eligible for JV. Skaters also must be between the ages of 18 and 28, and goalies between 18 and 32.
    • Real NHL cap hits are used against a salary cap of $85 million ($81.5 million for first year leagues).
    • Real NHL contracts are used -- if a player becomes a UFA in the NHL, he becomes a UFA in the CHA.
    • Each league has a different buy-in ranging from $0-$75. The higher the buy-in, the higher the payout.

In complex leagues it is very important to know the rules. Read all the rules over and over to try and gain an advantage over another opponent. A couple key points to remember:
-With Goals, Shots and GWG as scoring categories, players who post 30+ goals are more important than 30+ assist guys.
-PIMS, Hits and Blocked Shots can mostly be had in the later rounds of a draft or via free agent pickup so don't overvalue those players.
