Can't say this will help Perron's fantasy value much if true.

In conjunction with the Shaw addition, this will work well. The Habs are gonna magically be an awesome team this year because of all these wheelings and dealings. Nothing at all to do with Carey Price returning, of course.Eric Engels @EricEngels
Source: Montreal Canadiens have had contact with David Perron, who would be very interested in playing for them.

Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.
I could see this. Perron did play in the QJ and Q.
I'd assume he speaks some solid French having been born in Sherbrooke (and assumed raised in the QC).
IMO, he's an overrated player, his two-way game is awful... Grabner-ish, Connolly-ish...
On my list of players I loathe and will not touch just because I despise their overall game so much.
But... MON will always push to have a few french players if they can...
And Perron is what's available.
I'd put this one over 50% certainty... so much, that I shall change my "Free Agent" pick because I think it's such a plausible match.
Hopefully he can mesh here a little better than he did in Pittsburgh.

When a player who's still only 28 ends up playing for four separate teams in four seasons, it says a lot. Plus, after playing his way out of Edmonton and Pittsburgh, he suddenly posts 20 points in 28 games for Anaheim just when he's set to be a UFA? Hello warning bells.

Perron actually has a history of coming out of the gate fast. [It's not UFA dependent - it's "hey, I'll prove I'm a good player to my new teammates"...]
Back from injury - scores...
Starting seasons - scores...
Joining a new team - scores...
After 20+ games on a team... he falls back to becoming laxidazical (sp?) ol' Perron.
He should be nicknamed Mr.Minus - because once he lost his solid STL teammates that masked his ineptitudes (sp?)... it became evident.
He's sort of the on-ice version of Evander Kane... he'll promise you he's gonna be different... but he's the same ol' guy...
This said - he'll be a good player to start next fantasy season, 2016-2017... I'll draft him in one-year leagues...
But then dump him before Christmas...

Ugh. This would be horrible. Habs still need a top-six forward, not another third-line tweener. But these are the moves they are making. Sigh.

Good job Bergevin. Let's go after Weise and Perron. Not like the teams needs any actual scoring talent in the top-6
