Default Better option for this year: T. Ross or M. Stroman?

Hey all, I'm faced with a decision regarding my pitching this year: Ross or Stroman with standard Yahoo cats?

Ross is more owned by 2% on Yahoo but Stroman is the Jays' number 1 at the moment (vs Ross at number 2). Stroman plays in front of a better team (offensively and defensively IMO) so that helps too.

Pineda and Iwakuma are also available but I think the 2 options above are better candidates.

Who would you guys choose here?

ill go with Ross.. His Fastball/Slider combo is nasty plus he is an extreme Ground Ball pitcher..

Personally I would go with Stroman. He's shown his high season, and he's competitive enough to be playing at that level the whole season. Plus the added bonus of wins in front of the Jays offence makes for a nice floor.

I'd probably take my chances with Stroman because I believe he has the better team behind him but I am also a Jays fan so some of my bias could be in play in this answer. I honestly don't see enough of the Padres to know just how good or bad they truly are.

Stroman or Ross are my choices. I would say it’s a coin toss and either could do well this yr. I’m not looking at Pineda or Iwakuma this yr unless they fall a couple of rounds.

    Ross. 180-200IP
    1:1 W:L ratio – ish (11-10, 12-10), 3.2-3.5ERA, 180-200Ks.
    Stroman: 180-200IP
    1.5:1 W:L ratio (15-10, 14-8), 3.2-3.8ERA, 160-180Ks

    Take your pick.

I like Ross, plus he's in the NL which is always a plus.

Another vote for Ross. More of a track record and there's been talk of an innings limit on Stroman. Gibbons said they likely won't have one for him if they're contending, but it's worth noting as a potential issue. Ross is just a much safer pick.

Well if the first week means anything it's Stroman in a landslide!
