    Hello All:

I am finishing up reading Mr. and Mrs. Hockey (Gordie and Colleen Howe).

What hockey books have you read that you would strongly recommend?

    I have a few I would recommend:

Ahhh I forget the name but it has Bobby Orr on the cover. You will know when you go to the bookstore. Great read. Author Stephen Brunt? I think.

Another is Original Six by McFarlane..

--hkylifer how is the Howe book??

    Hello Zorro and Smoothfun:

Mr and Mrs Hockey has chapters that are based on the experiences of different hockey personalities with the Howes. i.e. Brian Burke, Edna Gadsby, (wife of Bill Gadsby) etc. It covers all of his career from Saskatoon, Detroit, New England, Hartford. It is enlightening, humorous, and entertaining. I enjoyed it very much.

Another good read was Thunder and Lightning by Phil Esposito and Peter Golenbock. Esposito gives insight on the start up of the Tampa franchise and some of his hockey memories with Boston in the days of Cashman, Orr, etc. The start up of the Tampa franchise certainly had a bizarre twist. Again very enlightening, humorous, and entertaining.

I love reading these type of books. One of the few types of books where I find myself actually laughing, out loud, to the circumstance.

    I will pursue your suggestions.

    Zorro,

Searching for Bobby Orr. Stephen Brunt is the author.

I believe that is the title. I remember it being a little slow but an OK read.

The Orr book is a very good read. After that I read Game Misconduct, about Alan Eagleson.

    My favourite edition was 2005/06:huh:

    Hello Comish, Jawa \'et al\':

Comish and Jawa: You two guys are sick puppies.

I don\'t want to be to hard on you cause you just might be giving me straight goods. You know I respect the fact that there are people that suck up stats. My eyes just kind of glaze over. I can\'t get into it. Thankfully we have people like Dobber that have that obsession. We all benefit.

I just saw a book thats out called \" Travels with Stanley\" authored by the Keepers of the cup. The review I read said it was an easy, breezy read?
The book entails some of the different tales and destinations Stanley has been through, since 1995 when it was decided that members of the Champions could each have one day with the Stanley cup.
If anyone does read it, I\'d like to know what you thought of it.
