Read this on THN.

It\'s refreshing to finally see the the Leafs rebuilding. That said, they will be hard pressed to make the playoffs. I personally think they will surprise a few. the youngsters will step up, the few vets will take over the leadership roles, and CuJo will provide a good amount of positive aura. This team is full of Third liners and unknowns and under Wilson\'s tutelage, they can become a threat in the east.

Although they may finish as high as 10th in the east, they will only be a threat to watch :S

The only surprising they will do will be because no one expects anything from them at this point.

Maple Leafs are in th dog house and wont evan come close to making a playoff spot.Evan if they do then the Leafs are dumb becaause if they are rebuilding why would you wanna make the playoffs. Toronto just neds new managment who know\'s how to run a hockey team. Thank God Im a Red WIngs fan and dont hav to worry about not making the playoffs :laugh: .

im sorry to not support your post or your team jester (maybe i shouldnt even post here) but...

lets not get too excited over a team that signs the likes of niklas hagman and jeff finger because each had slightly above average performances in contract years.

right now i feel like making a post called:

i dislike stupidity. i like when teams go into full rebuilding mode. the leafs need to swallow some pride and do that. full out. not this half ass BS. do it.

The Leafs will be a harder team to play against than last year, but not a harder team to beat. They will give teams hell defensively, but will struggle offensively until past the deadline. They will not be a threat in the Tavares race, but also won\'t be a playoff threat. But their rebuilding will be quicker than people anticipate.

What worries me is that if by miracle they are 3 points out of a playoff spot at the end of february they\'ll forget their rebuilding phase and try to get Doug Weight for Jiri Tlusty.

Any position higher that 12th will get Wison serious consideration for the Adams trophy!
