To be honest, if its a salary cap league I think most of u missed the boat on this
In a 12 team, maybe 14 team salary cap league, Kopitar is a bad play. He wouldn't make any contending team at his current salary, and when he gets a raise next year he wont be worth owning period.
He has had 1 good fantasy year
I don't even believe he is tradeable, maybe to a bottom feeder team who somehow sees fantasy star power, but not me, not even close.
I wouldn't acquire Kopitar for free, he would hurt my team in a salary CAP league rather than help, and no way is he a keeper, not even debateable
Now Fabri, I own him. Maybe he becomes a good fantasy player, maybe not, but worth a shot in my view given his cheap salary for the next 2 years and possible increasing role next year on a very good team. He is more valuable in a league that counts plus/minus no question.
What I would do is take Fabri, try to trade kopitar if possible, but if u cant, drop him for a much more economical option and free up salary for other moves, under the assumption you have moves to use
My 2 cents
Wallbanger
Pretty much this. It depends if there is a cap factor to this equation. If not, then Kopi is an easy winner here. If there is a cap implication, then it breaks down to team preference, needs, current/future cap amounts etc. I agree kopitar is over priced in certain formats and will likely get a raise. I don't agree to the extent that Wallbanger mentioned, but the point is valid imo.
