M.Koivu vs Gagner

M. Koivu ranked 118.
S. Gagner ranked 59. according to Dobber.

I\'m just curious to how most people feel about this ranking? Both young. Koivu to play with Gaborik and out produce gagner this year in my opinion. The long run...not sure gagner\'s upside is all that much more then the future captain of the Wild.

Koivu when healthy...has been nearly pt a game.
His injury last year wasn\'t due to being an injury prone player...it was a two handed slash that broke his leg from behind.

You\'ev brought up some good points, but I think it bears considering that Gagner did what he did last year on a middle-of-the-road team as an 18-year-old. I also like the look of the Oilers long term when compared to Minny.

No question Mikko is talented and could very well have a career year this year. But in his prime I think he\'ll still be a full tier below what Gagner will be capable of. IMO.

i agree that they will have similar years for the next 3 or so years. at that point gagner will continue to get better and become a 100 point player while Koivu will top out at 85 if minny gets more O, or 75 otherwise.
