Ryan Whitney will probably be a top five defensenman in point for the next five year, but Hossa is a superstar with a huge upset... I will be please if somebody offer me Hossa for Whitney in my keeper league

I was thinking of offering Hossa for Ryan Whitney straight up.
Looking at Dobb`s ratings, Hossa is worth 182.0 while Whitney is only worth 78.1. Hossa = #8 in forwards, Whitney = #1 in defense.
What do you guys think? Is this a stupid deal to offer up?

DEFINATELY dont offer this trade, just cause whitney is the top ranked Dman, doesnt mean he is as valuable as Marian Hossa. If you DO WANT whitney that badly, offer up hossa for Whitney/Skater.
I agree with Lambraf. I would also be happy if somebody offered me this.
And Lambraff where did you get that picture of my Brazilian old lady playing V-ball?? I would appreciate it if you kept the nude one\'s you got of her off this site.. HA..

I would agree not to do this trade purely on the basis of how your scoring system is (1 point for goal or assist).

Here is the way I like to compare trading d-men for forwards: Look at what your alternative is for both forward and defence. 8 teams, 12 forwards mean that you should be able to land a 60 point player, about 100 best player, as replacement (using Dobber’s pool guide for numbers) from the free agent pool. Hossa is a 98 point player so you are giving up 38 points if you trade him away. With 8 teams, 6 defencemen, you should be able to sign a 37 point defenceman. Whitney is predicted to get 71 points so you are getting a 34 point upgrade on defence. To me this looks pretty even for this year. Down the road however, Whitney will improve while Hossa is already playing at his peak so I think you would be the winner of this deal (although not by that much).
Thanks very much for the analysis. I guess I won\'t offer him Hossa then. I\'ll see if he\'ll bite for Ryan Miller

Yeah I would make that offer. I think it is pretty even in terms of value and you look like you could use a D guy as a keeper - why not get the best now before it is too late? You will miss Hossa but also love Whitney - can\'t have it all, but think in the long term as Reeveta says - you come out ahead.
good job reeveta, simplifies things , although i still give the edge to hossa as offensive d-men are growing in #\'s , slowly but surely , so by the time hossa\'s #\'s drop he could still be traded for an equal quality d-man , shea webber for example, just an example.plus hossa could get traded to a place like pitts or l.a , etc in the not too distance future and then playing with guys like whitney etc. his #\'s could grow.
