Big trade - who wins in a vaccum

Hey Guys

I know i wont give enough information to get a perfect answer

But the categories are the same as the ones in sig except add PPP.

team 1 gets: tavares + luongo

team 2 gets: RyJo + varlamov + shattenkirk

There was some other things thrown in but those were just cap balancing stuff and such so this is the core of the trade, who wins

Does team 1 have an extra roster spot and if so, who will slot in the D spot? I think I like the team 2 side of the trade. I believe in RyJo and Varlamov so I think it will work out. Might change my mind if team 1 and slot in a fair Dman.

I like Tavares/Luongo myself.

Tavares is a step above Johansen, who is no slouch.
I've never been a fan of Varlamov (he's had one stellar season between a number of average ones) so I love the Luongo upgrade here.
Shattenkirk helps even it out, so it's a good trade both ways, easy to argue for either side.

I looked at it for ½ a second before I chose the Tavares side. You get an elite player and you give up an oft injured Shattenkirk, a sputtering Johansen, and an oft injured shaky Varlamov.

Luongo = Varlamov for me. They are both in the same tier, so that’s kind of a wash.
Tavares > Johansen. No one can argue the other way really.
PICK UP < Shattenkirk. Depends who the pick up/roster replacement is, but in per game stats Shattenkirk will win. But 50pts is 50pts regardless if Shattenkirk only plays 60games.

Fair trade both ways, but I 100% will take a fair trade if coming my way is the better player. There’s always WW surprises so the added roster spot you created helps you find that special guy in WW-land.

Dubnyk and Klingberg were the big ones last yr. JvR, Bobrovsky, Voracek, Tarasenko, Forsberg, Tyler Johnson, Kucherov, and many more were WW adds at one point.

Tavares and Luo for me. Tavares should basically be at about Ryjo + Shatty alone, and then I actually like Luo over Varly.

I like Luongo over Varlamov too. Luongo has had an awesome SV% so far and Varlamov hasn't been good

Tavares and Luongo side for me and it didn't take me long to choose but I see both teams getting a good return.

I have never been high on Varlamov so I also feel Luongo is an upgade in G, Tavares is an upgrade to RyJo (and he's a favorite of mine). Shattenkirk is a nice piece to try and level the deal off but I still prefer the Tavares side.

This is a 16 team league salary cap dynasty, the waiver wire adds will likely be someone like petry or sekera me and the other Gm felt this was a pretty fair trade, we felt he was improving for this year since his defense was lackluster so adding shattenkirk helps a lot and i felt i was getting the better half since its tavares.
