Thought I would share for fun. Just finished two inaugural drafts for two dynasty leagues (see below). I think both went quite well, and am particularly a big fan of how League 2 went. My initial thought is in League 1, I should be in the top half and have a relatively long window to compete. In League 2, I'm thinking I should be in the top 2 or 3. Who knows, maybe this is all just wishful thinking.

Some thoughts on some good value picks, and maybe some where I reached:
League 1: Value picks: Giordano at 74, Bjugstad at 95, Simmonds at 98, Steen at 119, Kuznetsov at 122, Phaneuf at 194, Khokhlachev at 431.
Reach: Panarin at 266

League 2: Value picks: Ovechkin at 4, Hornqvist at 148, Plekanec at 196, Niemi and Lehtonen at 213 and 220, Marchand at 309, Jurco at 357, Fucale at 453.

Curious to hear any thoughts!

Ovi at 4!!! That is amazing, I haven't seen him go later than #2 in any of my mock drafts all summer!

Out of curiosity, as you are in two identically statistical leagues, did you go into them with the same strategy? Or did you do one of them, and try something different in the next?

You could be hurting in net in both leagues, but I really like that you seemed to cover both goals and assists well in both, as I find that in inaugural drafts many GMs forget to do that.

As an aside, I never understand counting takeaways as a category. The gap between the best and worst is so small that it almost becomes a meaningless category.

Simmonds at 98 and Ovechkin at 4 is nuts. Especially the latter.

Who went before Ovechkin???

Phaneuf at 194 in a league with Hits/Blks/Pims may be the biggest steal, I'm not a big fan of the guy but he really fills up the stats in a multi-cat.

Hornqvist at 148 is also pretty crazy value.

I'm against you in both leagues.....We kept cherry picking eachothers guys in league 2.......Ovi at 4 is good value but he went at 7th in league 1 which is truly insane lol

That was a tough one with you. I'd steal your #1 guy on the round when I picked first, then after the snake you'd usually snipe the guy I had at the top of my queue. And yeah, I couldn't believe OV fell to #7. I view him as a guy that has to go top 3, but a case could be made for 1, 2, or 3. 7 is robbery though.

At least I took Crosby. Sitting at 3rd I was not expecting to have a choice between Sid and Ovi......only took Sid cause I've never owned him. Can't stand the guy though.
